Jonathan Quick has officially retired from the @NHL after 19 seasons. After being selected by the @LAKings in the third round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Jonathan played two seasons of collegiate hockey with the University of Massachusetts-Amherst before joining the Kings’ franchise ahead of the 2007-08 season. Jonathan made his NHL debut on December 6, 2007, and would pick up his first career win in his first career game. The following season, Jonathan appeared in 44 games for the Kings and cemented his place as the club’s starting goaltender. During the 2011-12 season, Jonathan recorded a league-leading 10 shutouts en route to backstopping the Kings to their first Stanley Cup in franchise history, earning the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP as well. Two seasons later, Jonathan and the Kings were once again crowned champions. After 16 seasons with the Kings, Jonathan joined the @GoldenKnights ahead of the 2023 trade deadline. Jonathan departed as the Kings’ franchise leader in games played (743), games started (731), wins (370), and shutouts (57). Jonathan appeared in 10 regular-season games for the Golden Knights and would hoist Lord Stanley’s Cup for a third time as the Golden Knights captured the 2023 Stanley Cup. On July 1, 2023, the Milford, Connecticut native signed with the @NYRangers, the very same team he grew up watching as a child, and would play his final two NHL seasons with the Blueshirts. Internationally, Jonathan proudly represented the United States at the 2010 & 2014 Winter Olympic Games, and the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. Jonathan retires as the all-time wins leader for American-born goaltenders and sits 12th on the NHL’s all-time wins list. Congratulations on your incredible career, Jonathan, and welcome to the NHL Alumni Association!

The terrible Toronto Maple Leafs of poorly populated Canada will close their very BAD season tonight. During their decade of choking like dogs in the playoffs, the lousy Leafs only managed to win two series. Sadly, Keith "Elton John" Pelley is a TOTAL lightweight who knows nothing about our tremendous sport, and believes the Maple Losers don't need to rebuild. Tremendous news for fans of the other 31 teams, who have enjoyed the GREAT comedy of watching them choke badly since prior to the first moon landing. The Maple Losers haven't been to a SINGLE final since only 6 teams were playing in our wonderful league, and will always be the single biggest JOKE in NHL history. Interestingly, the Maple Losers and their pathetic fans, such as total loser can't-skate Steve "Dangle" Glynn, will continue to brag about the value of their pathetic franchise while having meltdowns the likes of which few throughout history have ever witnessed. There will always be someone LOW IQ enough to pay 4 billion dollars too much for the losin' Leafs, especially up in poorly populated Canada, where intelligence is extraordinarily RARE.
