Industry wide concern. We discussed with local MP just last week. We are all working very long hours just to keep our heads above water. Any money in the account seems to quarterly go to the government in some form of tax. Back to square one, with the joy of another 80 hr week!

@GraemeDeyMSP @scotgov I presume when you said "we're doing everything we can to support colleges" you actually meant "we're doing everything we can to ignore colleges"? Lecturers haven't had a pay rise for approaching 2 years during a cost of living crisis.

Today I participated in General Questions, ahead of First Minister's Questions. As Minister for Higher & Further Education, I addressed the matter of funding for colleges. @scotgov is doing all it can to support colleges & unis in incredibly difficult financial circumstances.

Good news in today's Scottish Budget by @ShonaRobison. New advanced rate of income tax of 45% for those earning over £75,000. So further £82 million being raised. Overall £1.5 billion increase in Income Tax receipts. While Westminster cuts taxes, @theSNP protects public services.
