Our CTO and Co-founder, Will Tinney, had the pleasure of helping to judge @PlanesStudio's inclusive #hackathon last month, joining a diverse panel of senior tech decision-makers. Participants from underrepresented groups formed teams to build a #sustainability -based app.

@KathyMi25429227 @ajlang92 I think it is very much the standards to strongly advocate for the safety of staff and pupils. Was quite obvious that you were using hyperbole to me! I get very sick of people brandishing “standards” at total odds with common sense

@ajlang92 Er I was being partially metaphorical but if temp is 38C + and it is dangerous to have pupils in school, Ofsted need contingencies was my point. Common sense- not very common.

@cathygrahamhead @MichaelT1979 This is definitely the state of play for lots of schools. I was music lead in a school with a focus on performing arts - 600 kids and a £300 total budget. we (super lucky!!!) had free instrumental lesson provision for years 4-6. Anything extra was made up by PTA fundraising.

@artlust Left museums for tech and now a programmer. I never felt a good fit, it always felt like career for the affluent in terms of prorata contracts, low salaries and most opportunities being in London. It wasn’t really doable or scalable to live well.

Museum friends who have left the field: how did you find a different job? As sad as I am about potentially leaving the museum world, I cannot continue to stay at my current job, the museum job market is bleak and I don't even know where to begin to look for something else.
