To God the giver of life, I am thankful. Today marks my 58th birthday anniversary, without God and the kind support of you my friends and family, I would not have come this far, and so I say thank you. Birthdays are a new start, a fresh beginning and a time to pursue new endeavors with new goals. I will move forward with confidence and courage. I count on God and you for the best days ahead.

I am a young lawyer and law abiding citizen practicing in Nigeria. My N17m may have gone down the drain in Heritage Bank. NDIC's insurance is a joke.  They say they are offering us 5m maximum statutory insurance payment. Means that poor Nigerians and small businesses would lose whatever amount they have if they are given N5m. NDIC's promise that they will pay the rest of depositors' funds after liquidation, we all know, is a joke. Several times, I tried to withdraw my money last month but withdrawals were restricted. I did all I could to no avail. No way. They told us thay the bank was speaking with investors. We all had faith that CBN will keep to their promise that never again would CBN watch and allow banks fail and depositors' funds to sink. We had faith that they would deal with the bank like they dealt with Skye Bank and intervened with the bridge bank structure that materialised to Polaris Bank, which ensured that poor depositors never lost a dime in deposit funds. I had faith in CBN's reassurance that they will never let any bank fail again. Why would a Central Bank let a bank fail in 2024 with no guarantee of FULLY and IMMEDIATELY returning depositors' funds? What more can erode faith in the banking system and financial system than the fact that the CBN can wake up one morning and revoke the licence of a bank they have held out to be a bank they licence and supervise?

That said, Mr. President, be aware that Team Nigeria participates at the Africa Games in Accra next month. Having set a precedent, please extend same largesse to our amateur athletes-living below the poverty line, when they return from Accra with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.

Congratulations to the Super Eagles for winning a silver medal at the 2024 AFCON. Appreciations also go to President Tinubu for rightly giving national honors, houses and plots of lands to the Silver medal winning super Eagles.

Congratulations on being cleared by the AIU Tobi. Put it all behind you. It’s time to focus and perform optimally.

This was the medal table yesterday. Final medal table for team bayelsa is 109 gold, 104 silver and 87 bronze totalling 300 medals. Bayelsa did not win 132 gold, 115 silver medals as ascribed to us. Something is not adding up somewhere…

2022 Delta National Sports festival final team Bayelsa results: 108 GOLD 100 SILVER 84 BRONZE 291 Medals 2nd position on the medals table. Can’t say enough how extremely proud I am of Team Bayelsa. Wow!

#asaba2022 with 58 GOLD, 39 SILVER and 50 BRONZE MEDALS = 147 so far, Team bayelsa has beaten its best record ever at any sports festival. On track for a podium finish. Congratulations team bayelsa. Let’s go!

Quite easy for Tima Godbless, who was fastest time overall in women's 100m heats, going through to the semifinals. Godbless clocked 11.31s to win heat 4, while Praise Oforku was 2nd fastest overall, winning heat 3 in 11.66s. Immaculate Daniels ran a PB of 11.85s to win heat 6.

The flood situation in Bayelsa State is quite alarming. This is a time for us to collectively help. They still smile and hope it goes as it came, but we can collectively make life more bearable for the most vulnerable.

It’s high time age cheating in sports is considered a doping offence.
