@wigwugg There's definitely room for improvement but is that a fault/mistake to be blamed about? That's like a QOL change. It's not like the process itself was not easy.

@wigwugg That's understandable if it's just a regular tourney. However this is THE 4v4 tourney of the year for tft. Expecting the organizers to be the ones to hand hold the participants through the registration process is too much.
This is just not a good look for competitive tft.

Seeing replies calling soju voice of reason
CTG missing signup is sending VIT straight to closed qual - soju and setsy are well aware of this. They did not develop a newfound appreciation for the rules over the past few sets. 🥀🥀

@149centimeters I think you are right, but it’s dicey to set a precedent of bending rules or allowing exceptions. Perhaps especially so when “top contenders” are involved, in fact. Because then do top contenders get a pass on something everyone else has to comply with? Where does it end?

100% on the teams, and the organisers also 100% have the right to refuse late entry. But I would imagine letting the teams who have cemented themselves as the top competitors compete is the best resolution for the players, the organisers, and the audience.

soju’s second paragraph here explains full well why, even though i might feel bad for people i like that might not have signed up correctly, there’s absolutely no excuse for this by any teams and it’s 100% on them, not “the process” or whatever

It's 100% the participants fault. Trying to find fault in the organizers is just a way to try to find a leverage in these discussions.

Lots of talk about if missing signup is the teams faults or the systems fault: teams/players 100% fucked up. But, missed signups like would be avoided w/ better player comms. Organizers messed up too.
Regardless, who is at fault won't decide whether or not signup gets reopened.

@LunarBeastPhel_ @149centimeters @Mortdog It's about the # of changes that can't be tackled by an individual given the remaining time. This makes it more of an RnD arms race than a skill diff.
Since most prep is on PBE, established players with study groups will find it much easier since they scrim among themselves.

I would expect the best players to be very good at quickly adapting to changes, the new meta etc, and the pro scene is always much better for us viewers when the meta isn't stagnant af. I agree that it might be very risky, but i think it's very good

Sion is meant to just die in weak side and still get farm after death. The main issue is G2 picked Sion but they still invested so many resources on him which defeats the purpose.

@FSamilegi @Grim_BG It will depend on the meta. If it's a 1/2 cost reroll meta then it's most likely good. If it's going to be a fast 8 meta then it's a bit too OP.
If most of the lobby won't punish you for losing a gold aug in the early stages then this is too OP.

Using gadgets is different from filming. Japan is really strict with filming/taking photos without consent. If they tell you to stop, it is right to oblige.
Pushing/Shoving to fit in a crowded train is also completely different from that kind of act in the video.

@algo_factory777 @callistoroll everyone uses electronics on japanese trains. i spent 3 months in japan 1 of them in tokyo. people push & shove everyday on the trains. it's true you should give up your sit to someone who needs it but you can sit there until someone like that arrives. that's what locals do.

@Mortdog Had a Kennen Hero but was stuck rolling on lvl5/6 and couldn't hit Kennen3 until stage5 when there's only 3 other copies out in lobby. Stage4 = Rakan/Janna/Malph3 but 6 Kennens.
Worse part: a Zac hero, a Kayle3, a Cait/Jayce3, a Kog3 all hit earlier. Outpaced by 3cost rerolls.

I've seen a lot of reports like this this set. Normally I'm pretty skeptical given how people perceive random, but given the volume of reports, we're trying to investigate this. So far we haven't found any issues though.
What would really help, is if you have any VIDEOS of games where you felt like you experienced this, please send them my way. Maybe there's something we're missing, and any evidence can help us find it.
That being said, even if we ultimately find nothing is wrong...that won't matter. It's clear there's some improvements we could make to the experience and perception around it.
