@sama FWIW, I find myself using it over opus for almost all of my work. And I’ve been die hard Claude user for the past couple of years. I honestly thought they won the code game, but 5.5 is like laser focused on tasks that opus always pushes back on.

so fun to see the reception to 5.5! there is almost nothing that feels more gratifying to me than builders saying they find our tools useful.

Claude is a lazy bitch

@finsterdexter @vivoplt Claude pushes back non stop. Constantly tells me “we’ve done enough today” even after a short sprint. It’s mildly infuriating.

Are people switching from Claude Code to Codex just because of token efficiency, or is there more to it?

@vivoplt I use both. They pair well together. Codex and Opus are both amazing. I don’t care about token consumption though. I just need them to do the work I ask them to do, and Claude pushes back A LOT more than Codex, so I tend to use Codex significantly more often.

anyone who uses codex knows the difference between claude and codex nowdays.

@Amank1412 I use both, $100 plan on codex, $200 on Claude. I get more usage from codex, and less pushback. Claude is architect and problem solver, codex is the coding workhorse. They pair really well together.

@adilmania @sama Yall really need to learn about front end tools like pencil and figma mcp. Stop making agents design without a vision or direction. Use better tooling and this wouldn’t even be a complaint.

hi @sama. design matters a lot to me. so i'm using Claude over ChatGPT mostly because the interface feels more tasteful than the classic b&w and the default font in ChatGPT. could you please add some themes? new a few serif/sans serif font options? i swear i'll pay the premium OpenAI subscription the second you ship it.

GPT 5.5 is amazing but im still sad it sucks at frontend so I cant cancel claude yet @sama when will this be fixed 🙏

People are always talking about “team Claude” or “team Codex” while I’m over here using both all day every day. They each have their strengths, and compliment each other very well.

I've been using GPT 5.5 all day, and I can say it's hands down better than Opus 4.7 for agentic coding. And I'm a die hard opus user.
