EVs and my Tesla - A Slightly Ranty One I receive a fair amount of criticism, and perhaps some of it is well deserved because sometimes I say stupid things, so I’ll take that feedback on the chin. But I also receive a fair amount of hate because I drive EVs and the hateful do not, and they wished no one else would, too. You’ve probably all experienced an element of that. And if you’ve been passionate about cars all your life as I have been, I don’t hate ICE cars. I’ve pretty much had nearly every iteration: • in-line 4 • Diesel • Flat 4 • V6 • V8 • V12 • Straight Six • Front wheel drive • Rear wheel drive • All wheel drive • 4x4 with low ratio box • Manual’s • Auto’s • Turbocharged • Supercharged • Range Extender • Plug-in Hybrid • Battery electric car • Hot hatches • Coupe • Fast cars • Estate • Saloon • Off-roader • SUV I love cars! I prefer EVs now and I my preferred EV is a Tesla. And because I prefer a Tesla I get a fair dollop of passive aggressive comments from the EV community. People feel compelled to nit pick because ‘Tesla bad’, and I just want to let you know that I welcome all EVs, except hydrogen ones, and I will continue to love my Tesla irrespective of the comments made. And yes, I genuinely love driving my 315 bhp RWD, hi-tech fun machine. I love how it wafts when I want it and I love how I can take it for a spirited drive along the lanes. I love looking back at its shiny red paint when I’ve parked up, and I love how seamlessly brilliant every aspect of the software is. And I love what the future could hold once our painfully slow regulators catch up with current technology and allow my car to drive itself. I hope other manufacturers will offer self-driving tech, too. And yes, I will be subscribing to FSD and giving it some challenges and chronicling it. So the net gain of passive aggressive comments and nit picking has resulted in me telling you how much I love my car. That one is on you 🤓 But, what I will say is this. If you truly love your car, whatever it is, then I’m very happy for you. I genuinely am. And you will not find me nit picking about your choice of brand and model, whatever it is. Because for you, you have chosen wisely according to your own decision making process. And that’s what matters and I’m fine with that. And remember, I spend a lot of time advocating EV’s, finding great deals whatever the manufacturer, plus I’ve done other stuff that I never expected to happen such as appearing in others videos and podcasts. It’s a great adventure and I am very humbled to have made some friends from X in the real world. And I hope to meet more of you. Although I drive a Tesla, we also own an MG, too. It may not be the greatest car to drive, and the software can be a little buggy, but it suits our family needs perfectly. My wife loves it and it’s our workhorse. The Tesla may not represent the epitome of pure driving pleasure, but I genuinely feel it deserves praise for how it drives because it’s that flippin good and it suits me perfectly. And this is all that matters folks. Be happy with your choice and let others be happy with theirs. We’re all one big family here and I genuinely am amazed by the lovely EV community here on X. I love you all - peace out ✌️

NEWS: Tesla has officially discontinued Autopilot in the U.S. and Canada. All new car purchases now come standard with Traffic-Aware Cruise Control. The online configurator has now been updated to allow buyers to choose the $99/month FSD subscription, while still offering the option to purchase FSD outright for $8,000 until February 14th. New Tesla vehicles purchases still come with a 30-day free trial of FSD (Supervised).

Ouch @Tesla In Denmark all vehicles needs to be inspected when becoming 4 years old and then every 2nd year. The Model 3 is renowned for failing inspections. Model Y have now become old enough for the 4Y inspections and sets a new record. 45%(!) fails inspection! $TSLAQ $TSLA

@sinclairinat0r Haven’t used windows since 2020. Did some iOS dev so switched to Mac. Now webdev but used to Mac now and it’s decent with ARM chips

Congestion charge in London will now charge EV cars £13.50 a day. This only goes to prove that this was never about air pollution & was always about making money. More lies !!!

Drove @tesla_uk MY LR to Europe all the way to Poland and then around Italy. Driving back tomorrow. MY charging curve means I only fully charged a few times. Used @OctopusElectro in Poland and Tesla network otherwise. Cost still date £105 for Non Tesla charging

@sarah_go_green What I do is set SSID to same as what I’ve used for last 20 and same password. All devices auto connect

My mums having a new router she's moving to BT. She has ring cameras etc if she asks the engineer to set the password the same as the old virgin router will all the devices reconnect without going back into settings. I am sure that's right?
