What a great gesture and hopefully start of a trend among the professional clubs. The number of ex academy players whose dreams are cut short is a BIG number, and some struggle to adapt to even the thought of a ‘normal’ working life. Big fan of it. ❤️

Crystal Palace have become the first club to open a dedicated support centre for players after they’ve been released from the academy. 👏 The idea is to limit the risk of mental health issues for released young men. 🙌 The three-year aftercare package will support released academy players in making a way of life, outside of football. Not only are the Eagles smashing it on the pitch, they are smashing it off the pitch. Great initiative. 🦅
