DMV gang — 2012 derecho was a warmer-season storm with more juice/less spin. This has less juice/more spin. What does that mean? Greater risk of sporadic tornadoes BUT slightly less widespread winds. Still, lots of folks at risk of 60-75 mph gusts.

I have lived in Virginia a long time, and the fluidity of the weather is well-documented. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen it go from high 80s to snowing in less than 24 hours.
