I'd held out hope that Elmo would lose enough money that he'd move on, but that's not likely now.
I don't like alternatives like Bluesky or Threads, also owned by billionaires with bad records.
Mastodon doesn't have a huge base but it's at least open. Mostly there now.

I keep reporting tweets with blatant racist and homophobic hate speech and they keep getting denied. I guess I do it for old time's sake. Twitter used to be such a nice place. The ruin that fragile billionaires cause in their search for acceptance and meaning is so sad.

Hit 1000 days on my daily exercise streak! One of the few positives of no travel this year is that I could plan my schedule better and incorporate more weights.

On Jan 1, I decided to see how many days in a row I could exercise (30+ minutes, P90X3 or similar). Still at it. The hardest days are ones with morning flights to Europe: get up early, workout, get to airport, travel 15ish hours, get to hotel, workout again before local midnight.

The team I’m talking about here did absolutely amazing work going from 70K requests per second to 7 million. It’s not that 7 million per server is needed but for the tens of thousands of customers using their framework saw zero breaking changes and huge gains.

Sometimes I get mistaken for a hater cuz I rant on things I consider having poor perf.
Reason I challenge perf out in the open is to put it on notice. In the past this has resulted in teams being motivated & taking 70k requests/sec to 7mill. Amazing work & data center reduction
