Oyo State Police Arrest Six Suspects in Connection With Ogbomoso K+dn@pping Case The Oyo State Police Command has arrested six suspects and several local informants believed to have been in contact with b@ndits responsible for the Ahoro-Esiele, Oriire Local Government Area school abd¥ctions. Security sources say the main armed b@ndits operating inside the forest are yet to be arrested, as they continue to evade ongoing tactical operations. According to the police, Babangida and Kabiru were arrested for allegedly acting as logistics providers, couriers, and informants. They were picked up in the Ojoo area of Ibadan while allegedly attempting to collect “exchange money” (ransom) on behalf of the k+dn@ppers. Further investigations led to the arrest of Adewuyi, Ayanwola, and Rafiu, who are from the Gbugbu area of Kwara State and Ago-Are in Oyo State. Authorities allege that three bank accounts linked to them were used as temporary channels for distributing ransom funds to the forest-based b@ndits. The Central Bank of Nigeria and anti-graft agencies have reportedly begun tracking those accounts. In another development, Adeleye, a university student, was arrested by military personnel after being found with a victim’s phone. Investigators also traced ransom-related emails sent to victims’ parents directly to his device. The Police Public Relations Officer said investigators intercepted conversations between the suspects and local informants, including plans on how to navigate the old Oyo National Park using “step-step direction to avade military borders.”
