With so many myths perpetuated about disability benefits in the press, it might be a good idea to politely inform your local MP of the facts. This website makes it easy. writetothem.com

@RITB_ Considering Timms has ranted about disabled people being too "financially comfortable" and McFadden has ordered him to make radical "reforms" I'd say the chances of anybody even reading it are...remote.

Do you believe the Timm's PIP review will be influenced by consultation, or do you believe they've already decided what they will do and this is just a paper exercise?

@leith1076 @DavidMcGregorBN Yeah Palestine has a great reputation for the disabled, you should visit. At least there’s never been a better time in history to work from home so you can fund yourself.

People ask what Labour has actually done. Try telling a renter facing a no-fault eviction that ending Section 21 doesn’t matter. Try telling a struggling family that breakfast clubs don’t matter. Some of us know these things change lives because we’ve lived it.

Oh goodie- Helen Whately is on Question Time tonight. Looking forward to her blaming the Iran war on greedy disabled people hoarding all the Motability Warships for anxiety or similar such guff while Fiona Bruce shouts angrily at Caroline Lucas.

EXCL: 65% of people back the assisted dying bill, just 14% oppose it, as it’s held up in the Lords. One dying man pleads with peers from his hospice bed to give him a choice. ITV News is featuring stories from both sides of the debate as time runs out. itv.com/news/2026-03-1…

@PaulBrandITV again @itvnews offering a one-sided emotional view, with no mention of the substantial evidence that poorly drafted assisted‑dying laws can increase risks for older people, disabled people, those with learning disabilities, and others already vulnerable to coercion or neglect.

@JackWDart The media haven't convinced me of anything. His utter betrayal of disabled people has. He cut disability benefits by a record breaking 50% and wants to cut even more.

Yep. Usually just a matter of administrative convenience. Assessors don't have the time or inclination to sit pondering which condition is the main issue, when it doesn't really influence anything anyway.
Katie@LuxMeaMundiAM

@leith1076 @RITB_ @GBPolitcs @Telegraph And more often than not, they simply list them in alphabetical order. So many claims appear as if the main condition is anxiety, acne, depression etc when they are not the actual primary conditions for the claimant

Not sure whether to laugh or cry over the fact that so many are apparently convinced that the majority of the 330 billion welfare budget is spent on people with depression and anxiety.

1/ A small minority of unelected peers are filibustering the Assisted Dying Bill to death with over a thousand amendments. The elected Commons passed it. The public backs it. I will keep fighting until the will of the people is honoured.
