India is going to be extremely strategic in its hosting of the Brics summit. They want to facilitate access to resources, gain access to markets and stand with one foot in the Global South and one as a true global superpower-in-the-making. South Africa is not trustworthy, according to Indian diplomats, and India is increasingly wary of SA's leaders - especially after the close ties with dangerous groups in the Middle East and Latin America.
