Official Statement I am deeply saddened by the recent suggestions on social media that my analysis of the Super Eagles’ performance against Tanzania stems from a lack of support for the team. For nearly 40 years, I have dedicated my life and career to the progress of Nigerian football. While my professional duty requires impartiality and objective critique, my heart remains firmly with the players and Coach Eric Chelle. Constructive honesty is not a sign of dislike; it is a tool for improvement born out of a desire to see our nation succeed. Just recently, I was accused of being "too supportive" of the coaching staff. To now be accused of the opposite suggests a misunderstanding of my role as an analyst. My loyalty to the Green and White is unwavering and requires no defense. Let us move past these distractions and unite in our support for the players. God bless Nigeria.

PRESS STATEMENT: DECISION TO WITHDRAW CRIMINAL COMPLAINT AGAINST MS. COMFORT EMMANSON AND TO ADDRESS RELATED MATTERS 1. In the last 48 hours, I have been in consultation with critical stakeholders in the Aviation Sector and those involved in the unfortunate incidents regarding the unruly behaviours of certain individuals at our airports of recent. 2. Though regrettable, we think valuable lessons have been learnt by all sides to these incidents and airport security protocol, especially, have been well highlighted for the travelling public. If nothing at all, the episodes have undoubtedly helped to raise public awareness about appropriate conduct within the aviation space. 3. As highlighted in my previous statements on the last two incidents, clear wrongs were committed by both the offending passengers and staff of the airlines involved from all the evidence available to us and those available to the public. It is clear that all the actors involved cannot continue to highlight the injury or injustice done to them without acknowledging their own equal culpability. 5. Therefore, after reviewing the entire incidents, including appeals made by well-meaning individuals and remorse shown by the actors, the following decisions have been reached: THE CASE OF IBOM AIRLINE AND MS. COMFORT EMMANSON (a) In the case of the unruly passenger, Ms. Comfort Emmanson, on the Ibom Airline on Sunday, the 10th of August, 2025, I have conferred with Ibom Airline to withdraw the Complaint against her today. When the Police took her Statement in presence of her lawyer, she exhibited great remorse for her conduct. (b) Subsequent to the withdrawal of the complaint by the Complainant, the CP of Airport Command and the Police Prosecutor will immediately take the remaining steps to facilitate her release from Kirikiri Prisons within this week. (c) I have also conferred with the leadership of the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) and have appealed to them to lift the life-time flying ban imposed on her, to which they agreed. The details of the resolution will be made public by the AON subsequently. THE CASE OF VALUEJET AND WASIU AYINDE MARSHALL (KWAM 1) (d) In the case of KWAM 1, the NCAA is to reduce his flight ban to a one-month period. FAAN will also work with the music star with a view to engaging him as an ambassador for proper airport security protocol going forward. (e) Having publicly demonstrated penitence, the NCAA is also to withdraw its criminal complaints against KWAM 1 earlier lodged with the Police. (f) In the case of Captain Oluranti Ogoyi, and the co-pilot, First Officer Ivan Oloba of VALUEJET, the NCAA is to restore their licenses after the same period of one-month ban after undergoing some mandatory professional re-appraisal. The details will be announced by the NCAA. AIRLINE OPERATORS, AVIATION AND OTHER GOVERNMENT AGENCIES 6. I have directed all relevant Aviation agencies in collaboration with other complementary agencies outside aviation to IMMEDIATELY begin a retreat NEXT WEEK to properly retrain and prepare our Aviation security personnel on how to deal with errant and disruptive passengers and how to deescalate potentially explosive situations. The retreat will be fully covered by the Press with the opportunity to ask all the relevant questions. 7. The Airlines will also have their own session when the conduct and attitude of their staff towards members of the travelling public will be in full focus. FINAL COMMENTS 8. These above decisions were taken by Government and the airline operators purely on COMPASSIONATE grounds as Government will never pander to base sentiments, politically-motivated views or warped legal opinions when clear encroachment of our laws are involved. 9. We are also sending a CLEAR MESSAGE that we take safety and security in the aviation sector very seriously and we have decided to draw a line after these clemencies. STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT TINUBU TO VISIT BENUE OVER CRISIS, SHIFTS SCHEDULED OFFICIAL VISIT TO KADUNA President Bola Tinubu has rescheduled his official visit to Kaduna State. Instead, he will travel to Benue State on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, as part of renewed efforts to foster peace and address the persistent conflict affecting communities in the state. The President's visit aims to assess firsthand the recurring crisis that has claimed numerous lives and caused significant destruction. During his stay, President Tinubu will meet with all stakeholders—including traditional rulers, political, religious, community leaders, and youth groups—to seek lasting solutions to the hostilities. In preparation for the visit, President Tinubu has already dispatched the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Inspector General of Police, heads of intelligence agencies, the National Security Adviser, and the Chairmen of the Senate and House Defence Committees to Benue State. The President is expected to hold a town hall meeting with all stakeholders during the visit. President Tinubu has previously condemned the ongoing violence in Benue State and called on all leaders and residents to embrace peace, love, and mutual understanding. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and to all those who have suffered losses as a result of the crisis. According to his itinerary released over the weekend, President Tinubu was scheduled to visit Kaduna State on Wednesday to commission various state government projects. However, the official visit will now occur on Thursday, June 19, 2025. Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President (Information and Strategy) June 16, 2025

@BashirAhmaad @ruffydfire Ipob is a separatist group seeking self determination. It is not a terrorist organisation. Nigerian government tried to impose violence on the group to label a terrorist organisation. It has been futile. Play the tapes of its leadership, available on the Internet as proof.

To Rufai Oseni @ruffydfire I have no doubt that you’re an educated person in a privileged position to critically assess situations. However, it is unfortunate that your objectivity is clearly clouded by emotion or hatred. I have seen that you have been trying so hard to compare what happened in a church in Ondo and killings in Benue to barbaric incidents in Uromi. What happened in Ondo, Benue or the similar that have been happening in Borno, Yobe, Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna or elsewhere were clearly an act of terrorism, carried out by known terrorists, which is entirely different from the barbaric incident in Uromi, where the gruesome killings carried out by a mob driven by ignorance and hatred, not by any recognized terrorist group. It is a fact that no one would be demanding that Edo State intervene if the killings in Uromi had been carried out by a known terrorist group. For example, when IPOB terrorists gruesomely murdered Huraira and her seven children, no one asked any state government to take responsibility, because the perpetrators were already identified as terrorists fighting against Nigeria, and not acting on behalf of any state. It is important that we learn to differentiate between terrorist acts and mob-driven atrocities. You asked why no delegation visited Ondo and Benue. If I may ask, who exactly were you expecting to visit Ondo, and on whose behalf? Should a governor from Sokoto, Katsina, or Zamfara travel there to condole, as what, a representative of terrorists? That logic is flawed. We should know that any known terrorist should not be seen as a citizen of any state or even a citizen of Nigeria. They don’t belong to any community. In fact, those terrorists have inflicted more harm on the very states they supposedly come from than anywhere else in the country.

IGBOS are celebrating the murder of an EFCC agent, “Salisu,” who was shot dead by an Igbo man in Anambra. They claim the man deserved to be killed, and Nigerians are silent. Honestly, I’m not surprised at all. These same people are pushing for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed terrorist organization “IPOB” in Nigeria. This group is responsible for numerous Insecurities across the country. Yet, the Igbos and their leaders continue to advocate for his release. The same people were praising Simon Ekpa before his arrest for terrorizing the nation. If this EFCC agent had been shot dead in Yoruba land by a Yoruba man, the narrative on social media would be entirely different by now. We all know what we are doing !!!

EFCC PRESS STATEMENT Chidi Odinkalu’s Reckless Commentaries on EFCC The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been drawn to some reckless commentaries made by a former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Chidi Odinkalu  on the arrest of Idris Okuneye(a.k.a Bobrisky) by the Commission, describing it as evidence of idleness or an abuse of power . The Commission views such commentaries from Odinkalu as unbecoming of a former head of a major government agency.  Okuneye was arrested and arraigned by the Commission on the basis of clear cases of abuse of the Naira to which he has pleaded guilty. Odinkalu has a right to free speech as a Nigerian but such a right should be exercised with decorum and responsibility. The Commission would not hesitate to take appropriate legal actions against such uncouth commentaries against its lawful mandate by anyone. Odinkalu is warned and advised to ventilate his rascally opinions more responsibly in future situations. Dele Oyewale Head, Media & Publicity April 5, 2024
