Writing code was never the bottleneck in software engineering. LLMs made it cheaper to write, not easier to understand, review, or maintain. That’s still the bottleneck. Let’s not pretend it isn’t.

Now I'm seeing people delegating *everything* to their clankers, which is just sad. Using them to improve your specs and designs is one thing; using them to come up with specs and designs is another.

Good specifications should be more challenging than coding. Good design documents should also be more challenging than coding. That's why you rely more on senior people for those parts and delegate execution to the rest of the team.

@luisrosilva Yeah, it's funny how simple things like missing imports or unused imports can completely break that system.

@ordepdev Today Claude replied to me at some point in time: "can't run tests because the code doesn't compile but it was like that before and what I did is right". While not wrong, it was fixable (unused imports) so it feels more and more like working with a not so fast or right person.😅

Everyone in my circle is sick of this shit show around this “new way of working” propaganda, but all of us just smile and wave.

/make-no-mistakes is the most powerful skill you can use right now. That, or actually be a fucking good engineer accountable for their own stuff.

@joaomendoncaaaa Yeah, you pretty much captured how I feel about this. This space is so saturated with blind enthusiasm that it drains all my desire to say good things about it.
