The mainstream media knew exactly what they were doing when they started this agenda in October 2025. Unsuspecting and perhaps over optimistic extremely positive Arsenal fans like @piersmorgan Piers Morgan hook on to the bait and ran with the agenda. A marinated red meat, seasoned content was thrown to the fan base and got everyone salivating including rival fans as well as the fan channels on social media like yours could not resist the aroma. Today, mainstream media, social media content creators and rival fans are having a feast as the agenda worked as planned. Can the team do a Quad or treble, probably yes but highly unlikely as no team has done the Quad before and you must be a great team to do the treble. Main objective at the start of the season was always the league and one cup and that is still very much alive and achievable.

All this talk about a treble or quadruple has created an impossible expectation around Arsenal. Very few teams in history have ever reached that level. If Arsenal win the Premier League, that is massive. If they reach the Champions League semi finals, that shows real growth. You can see this team is building something. But they are being compared to the greatest teams ever and criticised whenever they fall short. That does not feel fair, it feels like people are overlooking what this team is actually achieving this season.

Arsenal fan @Arsenal_91 states that Mikel Arteta should leave Arsenal at the end of the season, regardless of whether he wins the Premier League or not! #afc Do you agree? 😨🤔

Not convinced and think he should be sold in the summer. He will be starting on Tuesday at Lisbon and let’s see how he performs again. Sadly we are stuck with him until Eze gets back which is a sad reflection on how badly he has regressed regardless of his recovery from injuries. His deep in form or should I say lack of improvement in his overall game has been consistent for 2 seasons now.

I watched Martin Odegaard yesterday and he played his first game in 5 weeks. He gave the ball away once from a back heel other than that apart from Dowman he wanted the ball and played more people into the game than any other individual on the pitch. His return is massive 👌

Not read the @EBL2017 analysis and not likely to because like you noted the issue is more structural related to coaching, tactical set up and team selection than individual players injuries, mistakes and fatigues. Both issues can be true, but the former carry more significant weight than the later. There is consistency in the pattern and manner we lost the two cup competitions to 2 different teams with different playing styles and philosophies. The constant factor was Arsenal structure and not necessarily that the 2 teams played exceptionally well. With this in mind, one must be concerned on how Arteta approaches the next 4 games (2 EPL and 2 UCL). The outcome of these matches will determine the final trajectory of the season. Looking back at the last 4 seasons, you have to literally pray and hope for the most desirable outcome.

If you have to announce you’re the only smart one in the room, you’re probably not. Let’s break this down properly: - Losing to Southampton isn’t some ‘context-heavy anomaly’. It’s a structural failure. Rotation doesn’t excuse being outplayed in key moments. Elite systems absorb rotation, they don’t collapse from it. - You say nothing was learned tactically yet admit the game became ‘basketball-y’. That is the tactical failure. Mikel Arteta’s entire model is about control. If chaos creeps in that easily, the system isn’t as robust as advertised. - Blaming individual errors is lazy analysis. Repeated ‘unforced errors’ are usually a symptom of poor spacing, bad rest defence or lack of structure and not coincidence. - The ‘second string XI’ argument is exaggerated. Good teams don’t go from dominant to dysfunctional because 2–3 profiles change. That drop off is on coaching. - Saying ‘they’ll be prepared next time’ after getting tactically schooled by Pep Guardiola isn’t analysis, it’s hope. - And calling Sporting the ‘weakest team left’ in the UCL? That’s not analysis either. That’s arrogance before a knockout tie. For someone claiming to educate the masses, you should start with yourself.
EBL@EBL2017

I am beyond calm about Arsenal from here until the end of the season. Last night's emotional outburst from the masses was predictable, but also predictably illogical. In moments like this, true analysts comes to the fore and the weak are separated from the chaff. The charlatan's reveal themselves in broad daylight. Unfortunately, they take up 99.9% of the population. Anybody who complained about Arteta's system, the balance, certain players not succeeding because of the coach, or even those complaining about certain individuals not being up to par are almost all completely mistaken. We learnt nothing new about Arsenal last night. Not one thing. From a tactical or player-based point of view. The reality of the situation is that Arsenal came up against the most in-form team in England and played a rotated team due to injuries. This is not an excuse, as Arsenal should still be beating Southampton, but losing to them becomes less of a surprise when considering the context. Arteta's selection was incredibly balanced. I only saw one other analyst on this platform say this, and he is correct. Completely. Yet he is being 'dragged' for it. The first half performance proved that to be entirely correct, too. Arsenal were dominant against a Southampton team who didn't press. However, Southampton did have some moments. Why? Because Mosquera, White, and Gabriel all made unforced individual errors which negatively impacted the flow of the game. That's football, and it can happen, but it certainly happened far too often last night which made the game basketball-y. Then, as the game wore on, Arsenal got weaker due to their injury situation. It was 1-1 at the time and Arsenal had Dowman in the #10 - a role that is instrumental to organising Arsenal's press and exerting control on the game. As good as Dowman is going forwards, his non-existent attempt at a counter-press for the first goal conceded, lack of defensive intensity, and immaturity to organise the press is why he will only be used as a wildcard late on in games against deep-lying defences or when Arsenal need a goal. Right now, he is a total passenger defensively. Then, to make matters worse, Gabriel came off injured and Havertz came off as well (no doubt to manage his load). Arsenal were simply not as well co-ordinated as they typically are defensively as a consequence of these factors all taken together. Arteta picked a rotated team which got weaker as the game went on. The second goal summed up their issues. Southampton kicked long from a goal kick down Mosquera's side, he failed to win the initial aerial duel, and instead of Arsenal having one of Rice, Merino, or Havertz to compete for the second ball on the left, they had Zubimendi, who also failed to win the duel. From here, Southampton scored in transition. Would that have happened if Arsenal didn't have injuries or need to rest Gabriel, Rice, Merino, or Havertz? No. But it did happen, and knockout football is ruthless. One loss and you're out. But does a rotated and injury-hit Arsenal team losing to Southampton mean that the club are in crisis mode? Or that the system is fundamentally broken? Or that there is genuine concern over the Premier League title race or the Champions League situation? Not to any attentive viewer, no, and here's why: In the Carabao Cup final, City surprised Arsenal tactically. Mikel and his staff should have come up with solutions at half-time, but they did not. Players also could have helped on the day, sure, but they suffered too. But, like I said at the time, would Arsenal rather be surprised tactically in the Carabao Cup final or in the league game against City? The answer is so obviously in the cup final. Now, when the league game comes around, Arsenal will be prepared to face that likely City set-up. Trust me on that. Plus, despite losing to Southampton, the balance in the team was excellent. We saw that in the first half. Just because individual errors and a weakened performance as the game went on may skew that notion does not mean that Arteta's system is flawed or that any individuals are not up to par or anything ridiculous like that. Remember, none of Raya, Timber, Saliba, Hincapié, Calafiori, Zubimendi, Rice, Eze, Saka, Trossard, and Gyökeres started. That is quite literally Arsenal's XI outside of Gabriel, and he came off injured too! Realistically, the argument being thrown about regarding the defeat to Southampton is that because Arsenal's second string XI lost, the entire season is in jeopardy. I mean… come on! What a lot of nonsense! Remove emotion from the situation. Zoom out. Realise that Arsenal are 9 points clear in the Premier League with 7 games to play. City have a game in hand, sure, but that game in hand is against Chelsea away. Plus, Arsenal have to play first in the Premier League against Bournemouth at home, giving them the opportunity to extend the lead to 12 points with 6 games to go. Arsenal are also in the quarter finals of the Champions League against Sporting Lisbon. The weakest team left in the competition. If you said this was the situation to any Arsenal fan at the start of the season, they would have bitten your hand off for it, and rightly so. Plus, I don't buy into the notion that Arsenal are in bad form as they enter the business end of the season. What a whole load of contextless nonsense that is. City sprung a tactical surprise in the final. Arsenal will be better prepared for the league game. Plus, against Southampton, Arsenal played their second string XI. They are one off occurrences. The only legitimate concern Arsenal have at this point is their injury situation. The likes of Timber, Gabriel, Hincapié, Rice, Saka, and Trossard are key figures who Arsenal need to be fit and firing to see out the season. Plus, knowing the freakish nature of these guys, I don't expect them to miss too much football from here on out. They are almost all athletic freaks and mental giants. Outside of that, I couldn't be more calm and confident about the situation. Plus, on a personal level, last night revealed that my mission on this platform is far from complete. I still have so much work to do to educate the masses. So, so much work. I feel outnumbered in this moment, but I will not waver. I never have. Not since 2017. And I am not about to start now. Signing out, EBL.

Football is not mathematics and i know most Arsenal fans see it this way hence the wild meltdown each time we lose, draw or even concede goals. It always felt like we failed a mathematical examination. There is no guarantee that both teams will be in the final. I won't be surprised to see Leeds winning the FA Cup.

Let's be factual in our views and not misconstrue things. I listed 8 players to be sold in the summer. We bought 8 players last summer with 4 players starting in first team: Gyokeres Eze Hincapie Zubi. The other 4 players are back up and squad players. From the 8 players i listed, 5 are essentially squad players and can be easily replaced with quality and younger players. Odegaard may be a tricky one to replace as not many quality creative CM are out there, but Havertz and Martinelli can be easily upgraded with better quality and less expensive players considering their high weekly wages.

This is wrong in my view. The relationship with the players is a professional one and no manager or coach should be publicly declaring their affection towards their players after losing to a low quality team. You don’t have to publicly shame anyone or scapegoat any player but you also don’t have to say you love them when they let you down or put in a disastrous and embarrassing performances. He seems to prioritize his favorite players feelings and personal relationships than his own career, fans expectations and club ambitions. The players as well as himself as all dispensable and if he insists on ending his career as a failure cos of these players then that’s just sad. Elite Managers are more selfish about their career to care this much about some players. We don’t even have such mavericks like Messi or CR7 that one can die for.

This has been on for like 2 seasons now. He is a professional footballer and earns over 250k per week. If he has personal issues, he can seek professional help and take time off work. I actually don’t agree with the personal issue narrative and think he is just like Arteta, Emery etc. Certain players as well as Managers don’t just have the stomach to handle pressure and can’t deliver consistent performances when it matters most. As soon as the pressure to win the league becomes real after losing the league in 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 seasons, and we are not underdogs anymore, he crumbled. He can’t handle the weight of being the captain as well as deliver on the pitch consistently anymore. I also think the team has evolved same with the league playing style and he had not adapted. He is one of the big players that should be sold in the summer alongside others like Havertz, Jesus, Martinelli, Trossard, Ben White, Kepa, MLS and Norgaad

Interesting Take: I can understand the Mancity PTSD, but we need to be careful what you wish for. Rival fans want him sacked Pundits want him gone Media do 90% negative coverage of him like Trump Large fan base of Arteta Haters wants him fired Probably the most hated coach in EPL WHY ALL THIS? But he is ahead of the EPL new game style curve and built a system other teams not only admirers but now using as a benchmark. If you sack him, who are your top 3 to replace him? Yes, he dropped the ball in the Carabao Cup final and made some gamble with his player selection against the Saints but what about the players that did not turn up? At least now we know in contrast to Agbolahan at Talksports and other media firms, the players that withdrawn from the international friendlies were truly injured or in a red zone and most were rested today.

Too early, premature and a distraction. 15 games left to win 2 trophies should be the priority. I can however assure you that regardless of the outcome of this season even with a trophyless outcome which i strongly doubt, Arteta won't be sacked by the Board. Players will rather be sold including his favourite players and rightly so considering their impact to the Team. Only way Arteta leaves is if he resigns due to his personal mental crisis, fans threat to his life, family and other toxicity around his continued stay at the club. He probably has more Arsenal fans haters than fans that genuinely likes him. Even if he wins the Double, his haters will still want him gone.

I think most fans disappointment was not just about the outcome but certain issues relating to the loss. 1. Losing 2 cup games ( final and Quarter final) in 2 weeks gives a bad vibes, affect morale, loss of winning momentum and opens up the old wounds/scars of Mancity PTSD. 2. Arteta gambled with his tactical selection in a cup game and lost again. There was no chemistry on the pitch and certain players ideally should not have started or play in specific roles I.e Jesus at CF, Havertz at CM, MLS at LB 3. Some of the big players in the B Team have enough quality to do much better. There was lack of intensity, passion, cohension, several silly mistakes, lethargy and bit complacency all over the pitch. 4. Some of the aforementioned issues was evident in the Mancity carabao final with the A Team and no injuries and no guarantees these are not team wide issues but just specific to these 2 games. A huge boost is required at Lisbon and a 3rd consecutive loss will send the fan base into absolute meltdown. Rival fans and the media will feast on this like something we have never seen before. They have waited all season for these moments and not sure the players can survive the onslaught.

People have the right to be disappointed and even angry, especially about the performances by some senior players tonight. But the criticism and post match rage (headloss) also lack context. You can agree or disagree with Arteta's team selection, but it's clear where there priorities are. We played our "B-side", we rolled the dice and we lost. We knew the risks. We should've done better, but Southampton aren't Mansfield. They're a good Championship side pushing for promotion. They won fair and square, played with heart and had a good game plan. They didn't outplay us. It's also a game of margins and luck. We pulled the shortest straw. Good enough? No. End of the world? No.
Henry Winter@henrywinter

Frustrations in the EFL Cup final and now FA Cup quarter-final will be forgotten if Arsenal win the title. It’s always been about the league for Arsenal this season. 22 years since the Invincibles. Being best in the land, the champions, matters most. Lessons from St Mary’s still need to be taken: more players need to stand up to be counted, Max Dowman has to be given a run of starts now, wide or 10, and short-corner routines should be used only occasionally. Return of Raya, Timber, Saliba, Hincapie, Rice, Gyokeres and Saka (when fit and fatigue-free) to starting XI will help. #SOUARS

The treble/quadruple Arsenal talk started in January if not before That's setting an impossible bar that's been reached almost never in football history. If they win the Premier League, that IS a massive success. Reaching the CL quarter-finals, on the back of the semis last year, IS success. They are growing. Comparing them to the greatest sides in history and then criticise them every time they fall short, more than holding them to high standards, is IMO just a way to deny them credit for what they're actually achieving. Having said that, today is certainly a disappointment. Both statements are true.

The headloss to your initial tweet is probably deserving as it was premature. The same City lost to an injury ridden and average Madrid team home and away. Arteta got his tactical set up wrong, Arsenal players did not turn up, Liverpool looked like a team that want to be somewhere else and thinking more about the PSG match than this FA Cup match. Let’s wait for Chelsea -Mancity and Arsenal-Bournemouth match outcome next weekend to see if the outcome of the Mancity-Arsenal match may have impact on the title run in.

Headloss? Only on Twitter do you have to spell everything out. What I tweeted was the opposite of headloss: I’m saying there’s no need to panic as long as we don’t lose at Etihad. I believe we win the title. To do that, don’t lose at City. If they beat us, they win it, imo.
