It’s all about production capacity and kill ratio. Even if the f35 is 2x as good, if it’s 2x as hard to make its a wash. The F35 is incredibly expensive to replace in a slugfest with China (the only country capable of a real peer adversary war). A very bad thing when your adversary will be building munitions several times faster, drones 1000 times faster, ships 230 times faster, and have an airforce that is of similar size, cheaper, and by extension more easily replaced. This is a fair and reasonable concern for a plane that is 70-100 million dollars per unit.

@choculatopguy @uncledoomer @grindafrathjis Hypothetically in a peer adversary conflict (China) the F35s insane costs and difficult to scale manufacturing will be a massive concern, yes. I know for a fact we will get mogged on shipbuilding(200x) , drones(1000x) , and munitions(?x). Now I’m worried we will on planes too.

I’m talking about a hypothetical in a few years time with F35s vs J20s (or whatever) in an all out slugfest, not just white countries mogging on brown shitholes with half baked mismatched defence systems. Once the planes start falling I’m worried China will pump out whatever they’re using 3x as fast and for half as much. Which changes the equation on which plane is superior. All of this might not even be possible in an age of nukes, but hypothetically if it were possible to have a WW2 style slugfest I fear the F35 would lose out due to difficulty to manufacture despite being a superior piece of kit.

@proverbs_14_23 @uncledoomer @grindafrathjis You are of course basing this off the fact that an israeli flying an F-35 shot down an iranian flying a yakolev 130 in the first week of conflict, right? The world's first 5th generation fighter dogfight resulting in the F-35 winning easily? Right?

@LonghornSloth @uncledoomer @grindafrathjis Money is a loose proxy for man hours and resources consumed. It will always be real IMO. If something costs millions of dollars per year to maintain it means 35 souls must be dedicated to it. Which limits the maximum number of them possible.

IMO, no. It’s not a real slug match. The only one conceivable would be against China. But I’m not sure that’s even possible in an age of nukes. But hypothetically if we used no nukes and did decide to duke it out full on with China, WW2 style, cost and production capability are the single biggest factors, and we suck at both. They have over 1000x the drone production rate and like a 30x advantage in missile costs, 300x ship building capacity etc. Reminds me of the old quote but sadly in reverse.

@proverbs_14_23 @uncledoomer @grindafrathjis Is the current Gulf War not a “real” war? Sure it may suck against in a mirror match against a peer power, but no such threat exists right now. Russia, China, Iran all have inferior tech

There is no evidence China gave Iran its top of the line anti air tech. And besides, it’s about cost asymmetry and production output. How many missiles can they make and lob at us in order to profitably kill one f35? It’s a scary question considering they’re already making their munitions for 30x cheaper.

Yeah but don’t you literally start to violently cum when guys pull out their phones to take pics of how much ur deadlifting? I know I did. Also muscle is muscle, work is work, you can still be equally jacked while doing it. The only major downside I saw was that the programming was not nearly as casual, I never met an old powerlifter with healthy joints, and you eventually plateau and spin your wheels which obviously totally ruins the fun.

If youre training to compete in powerlifting or weightlifting, you should stop immediately. Becoming as aesthetic as you can be has much higher benefits. I competed in powerlifting mainly, with this being over 10 years. Noone cares how much you squat, at all, theres no money in it. If youre putting in al lthis effort, you should be training for aesthetics, being lean 12% bf, and still muscular in an aesthetic way, will have much higher benefits than you try to competition max for a "sport" no one cares about.

Remember when the betting odds for the return of Jesus in 2025 were at 4%? Nothing is under any obligation to make sense in such a highly leveraged and financialized economy. It’s just gamesmanship and derivatives of derivatives all the way down. Smart people desperately need to start ignoring the casino and get back to building bridges.
Just a Dude Who Invests@DudeWhoInvests

Makes LITERALLY ZERO sense. GOLD the hedge for geopolitical instability is crashing in the face of geopolitical instability. Can’t make this up.
