Car companies not willing to invest in factories in the UK due to prohibitive energy costs. Instead they’re going to Spain where electricity is 40% cheaper, because Spain invested in renewables and decoupled power prices from gas markets. A lesson for the UK Government

@otokyo Eating out was a rare maybe once or twice a year event at a cheap family restaurant. I never experienced "fine dining" as a thing until my late 20s and it still makes me uncomfortable how much money it wastes. Bear in mind I regularly drop £220 an hour to retain my SEP 🤣

Love Popeyes chicken but I am am having a hard time understanding some practices they and other restaurants do today. I recently looked on line and seen they had a 9 piece family meal for $20.00 which included a side and four biscuits, which is a pretty good deal today. When I got to the drive up window menu board all that was offered close to that was an 8 piece meal for $28.99. I asked the worker and was informed that the $20.00 9 piece meal had to be ordered on the mobile app. So I had to pull out of line and order the 9 piece meal on my phone and then get back in line to get my order. My question is why is it necessary to order on the mobile app to get this deal and others like it. Same restaurant, same chicken, just makes no sense to me. Why do restaurants do this?

@combat47344 @ATabarrok Not a waste of money, it gets parcelled in with training. Formation flying is INTENSE and used in operational situations, it just gets parcelled into these things. And the public gets a nice awesome little display at the same time. You can't be THAT joyless, surely?

@benonwine I can assure you, #elonmusk is roundly liked, appreciated and admired by most Brits with a functioning brain. Most of this smart people I know (doctors, pilots, scientists) think he's a genius philanthropist and most of the working class people I know think he's a hero.
