@DOC323123 vando wouldn't make a lot of *rosters* in the nba, not just rotations. like he's super lucky he received a decent contract because he's a g-league guy now.

@RichStapless people are fond of vando because he's a hustle and energy player, but the fact of the matter is that he's a total negative on the court now with his lack of offense and with his injury history sapping his athleticism. that said this topic is just overblown.

Thing is whether or not people agree with Vando’s place on the team, he was established early as a non mainstay in the rotation. I just found all the uproar of that 4 minute stint with Vando a little off.

@Rome_Beast the way i see it, jj’s been frustrated with the quality of role player that he’s had this year and those frustrations came to a head last night. of course, it’s fitting that rui, vando, and ayton were singled out because they represent the lakers’ flawed approach to the roster

vanderbilt and ayton will be off the team before jj loses his job and this is an awful reason to fire a coach anyways back to back 50 win team and has real buy in from his best players he’s not going anywhere this is just rage bait

@RichStapless i’m not really a rui fan, but he was yelled at too during that game and instead of confronting jj, he reflected on it, was subbed back into the game, and played better. the whole situation is 100% on vando..

It’s a noble effort. Props to him for trying. The risk of rushing this REALLY outweighs the reward with Austin also hurt.

@RichStapless it's also not worth it to rush back to this roster. this roster ran him and austin into the ground and was never winning anything this year more than one playoff series.

I respect Luka's effort, but I'm just not rushing anything back with hamstring. Harden was ran into the ground in 2021 and it took him quite a while to look like something resembing himself

@MarkAGunnels i'll always be angry with this current lakers front office by how consistently they failed him. luka and austin were run into the ground because the lakers are dogshit with building on the margins.

It's legit sad to watch #1 option LeBron at 41. He'll get his numbers, but he shouldn't have to be doing this anymore. Just very unfortunate.

My MVP case for Luka without Stan bullsh*t is this: 1. Counting stats. He’s gonna be the scoring champ on 33ppg, 8rpg, 7apg. Only player to ever do that 2. His on/off case is pretty strong. He’s around +6 NETRTG, not as strong as some his competition but I’ll get to why I think that could be seen as a positive. But he is the offensive engine on a top 10 offense and it shows in the stats 3. Team success. Lakers are famously over performing their NETRTG and it’s a lot to do with their performance in clutch games. Luka being the hub has allowed the Lakers to be in and win a lot of close games despite the team having a very mediocre analytical profile and outperform everyone but the Spurs and Thunder record wise This is with them being a top heavy team with a good amount of injuries and his value has been captured by his consistency offensively to close games they shouldn’t win

@so10kicks @DOC323123 lebron and reaves start everywhere, but that's my point. they have 3 surefire starting level players in the nba, everyone else is a fringe starter (smart, maybe rui and ayton), or straight up bench player (hayes, kennard) playing a bigger role than they should be

@sameer__t @DOC323123 LeBron and reaves? Kennard is a bench player on Lakers just like he would be anywhere else. Hayes and ayton play the same position. Can't use the same argument for both.
