@n_karkare @sulkul I have never managed to count them all. The brain gets scrambled after 20. The difference in counting must be because the "set of 3" which cause your eyeballs to go boingboingboing can be counted as only one by people. 🤣

There are things in this world that should never happen and yet, they are happening. This story sounds like fiction. But this is our life. Two and a half years ago, when the Israeli army entered Al Shifa Hospital, they took a number of newborn babies from the maternity ward. Newborns. They were separated from their mothers, from the only warmth they had ever known and sent to Egypt. Without names. Without families. Without anyone to claim them. They disappeared. For more than a year, there was no news. No answers. No certainty about whether they were even alive. Yesterday, some of them were returned. And I cannot stop thinking about one moment. A mother standing there.. trying to describe her child. Describing the face of a baby she had only known for less than a week. Trying to recognize her own son through memory alone. Through fragments. Through hope. Through pain. Then, suddenly.. he is in front of her. Alive. She breaks. A joy so overwhelming it almost looks like grief. And the child? He looks at her .. without recognition. Without memory. Without the instinct that should have guided him back to her arms. He does not know her !! And perhaps what is even more devastating he does not know what a mother is. What kind of world separates a child from his mother before he even learns her face? What kind of war steals not only lives, but the most basic human bonds? This is not just loss. This is something deeper. Something colder. Something that tears at the very meaning of being human. This .. is what hell looks like. #WoundedGaza

Five step hotel pre-shower routine for those who wear glasses: 1. Step into the shower, squint to read labels - unsuccessfully. 2. Step out, wear glasses, step back in. 3. Memorise the sequence: left-shampoo, middle-conditioner, right-shower gel. 4. Step out to keep the glasses safely back. 5. Return… now to figure out how the shower knob works.

When tensions gripped the Middle East and ships hesitated to move, one Indian officer stood firm. Ansh Tripathi, Second Engineer aboard Shivalik, helped steer a massive LPG tanker carrying 46,000 metric tonnes of fuel through the highly volatile Strait of Hormuz. For days, families waited in fear. Communication was patchy. The world watched. As Shivalik docked safely at Mundra, relief turned into pride. #IndiaOnDuty #RealHeroStories #EnergySecurity [Strait of Hormuz crisis, LPG tanker India, Ansh Tripathi, energy security India]

Shivalik entering Mundra Port was expected. But the crew that sailed her through the Strait of Hormuz deserves acknowledgement. Yes, three Visakhapatnam-class destroyers with their integral Romeo helicopters were deployed in the area, but navigating that tense corridor still requires nerve and professionalism. Respect to the crew.

When Megan told me she wanted to get married in jeans, I nearly choked on my coffee. After twenty-six years of dreaming about walking her down the aisle in the dress of her dreams, my only daughter wanted denim and cowboy boots for her wedding day. "Mom, I'm not a princess gown kind of girl," she said, sitting cross-legged on my kitchen counter in those faded Levi's she'd worn through high school and college. "I want to feel like me, not some version of what everyone expects a bride to look like." My heart broke a little. All those years of saving for her wedding, all those Pinterest boards we'd made together when she was younger, gone in favor of practicality and comfort. What would people think? What would her future mother-in-law say? But then I really looked at her, flour in her hair from helping me bake, laughing at something on her phone, completely herself in those worn jeans that had been through everything with her. First day of college, job interviews, lazy Sunday mornings with the boy who was about to become her husband. That's when the idea hit me. What if we could have both? What if I could take those jeans she loved so much and transform them into something magical? I found a seamstress online who specialized in unconventional wedding alterations. Together we designed this flowing gown that honored both my dreams and hers. The denim became elegant panels flowing into yards of romantic lace, creating something that was both country and princess, practical and breathtaking. When Megan tried it on for the first time, she spun around my living room like she was seven years old again. "It's perfect, Mom. It's exactly me." And seeing her face light up, I realized it was exactly what I'd been dreaming of all along. Now I create custom denim wedding dresses through my own online shop, helping other mothers and daughters find that perfect balance between tradition and individuality. Because sometimes the most beautiful compromise comes from loving someone enough to see them clearly. Credit - Jessica Donovan

@nimishdubey I was there when my daughter closed her little eyes for the last time and took her final breath. I very nearly missed the moment. It almost felt like she was waiting for me. I’ll be forever grateful that she did.

IndiGo seems to have added a direct service from Chennai to Réunion Island, which is actually a very interesting development. Réunion is sometimes referred to as the “French Hawaii.” Think volcanoes, waterfalls, dramatic cliffs and some of the most spectacular hiking landscapes you can find on any island. We visited many years ago and at that time it was almost unheard of among Indian travellers. Making that trip work required quite a bit of digging because information was scarce. One important thing to know is that Réunion is a French territory but it is not part of the Schengen region, so a Schengen visa will not work there. If you are planning a longer stay, Indians need to apply for a French Overseas Territory visa, which allows short stays of up to 90 days in French overseas territories including Réunion. However, there is also a visa waiver program for Indians and Chinese for stays of up to 15 days. It is important to remember that this is not visa free. It works through a visa waiver voucher that must be issued by an approved incoming agency in Réunion. When I travelled, after searching quite a bit I managed to contact a local DMC that issued the waiver voucher for around €20–€22 without requiring any bookings through them. At the same time, a few Indian tour operators were quoting extremely expensive packages just to arrange that voucher. My suggestion would be to avoid any operator offering absurdly priced packages for the waiver. A better approach is to contact incoming agencies in Réunion directly. They can usually issue the visa waiver voucher if you book accommodation through them. You can even request them to book just one night or a hotel of your choice. Rates are generally similar to OTAs or slightly higher, and in most cases the visa waiver processing fee is included with the booking. Earlier some DMCs used to issue vouchers if you showed confirmed flights and hotels, but the system seems stricter now and many agencies prefer confirmed accommodation through them before issuing the waiver. Flights can still be booked independently and then you can coordinate with a local agency for the accommodation and the waiver voucher. One important point to remember is that the waiver request must be submitted at least 10 days before your scheduled trip, and even with the voucher entry is still subject to immigration discretion. Réunion itself is an incredibly beautiful island and ideally deserves 7–10 days to explore properly. Another useful tip is that Réunion is extremely well connected with Mauritius, just about a 45-minute flight away. For Indians this used to be the most common route to reach the island, and even now if you are redeeming points routing via Mauritius might make more sense. Both Air Austral and Air Mauritius operate multiple daily flights between MRU and RUN. If IndiGo’s Chennai flight continues, Réunion might finally become much more accessible for Indian travellers. And it is definitely a destination worth exploring.
