사르후 전투 1619 -부차전투-
이 전투는 17세기 초엽 잘 훈련된 기병대의 가공할 위력을 보여준 전투입니다.
최근 kbs역사스페셜에서도 방영했던 광해군의 사건과 관련한 사르후 전투를 그려보았습니다.
여진족의 군사적인 위협이 커지자 조선과 명 연합군 10만명이 여진족의 영토를 침공한 전쟁이었습니다. 이들은 화약무기와 보병, 기병으로 편제되어 있었다고 합니다.
방어하는 여진족의 병력은 기병과 보병으로 이루어진 3만명 미만으로 추정됩니다.
여진족의 포로가 된 조선군 이민환이 쓴 책중일록의 기록을 바탕으로 작업해 보았습니다. 나무위키 문서에는 다음과 같이 인용되어 있습니다.
적의 기병(여진족 기병대)이 일제히 돌진하니 그 형세가 마치 비바람이 몰아치는 듯 했다.
대포와 조총을 한 번 쏜 뒤에 다시 장전하기도 전에 적의 기병은 벌써 우리 진영에 들어와 있었다,…(중략)
석양 아래 쏘는 화살이 비와 같고, 철마가 나아갔다 물러났다는 모습만 보일뿐 흐릿하여 자세히 보이지 않았다.
이 전투에서 조선과 명 연합군은 절멸적인 타격을 입었고 병력의 50%이상을 전사,실종,포로로 잃게 됩니다.
그리고 전선은 점진적으로 조선과 명나라 본토로 확대됩니다.
Battle of Sarhū 1619 - Battle of Bucha-
This battle demonstrated the formidable power of well-trained cavalry in the early 17th century.
We have depicted the Battle of Sarhū, which is related to the events of King Gwanghae, recently broadcast on KBS History Special.
This was a war where an allied force of 100,000 Joseon and Ming troops invaded the Jurchen territory as the Jurchen military threat grew. They were reportedly organized with gunpowder weapons, infantry, and cavalry.
The defending Jurchen forces are estimated to have been less than 30,000, composed of cavalry and infantry.
This work is based on the records from the "Jung-il-rok," a book written by Joseon soldier Yi Min-hwan, who was captured by the Jurchens. It is quoted in the Namu Wiki document as follows:
When the enemy cavalry (Jurchen cavalry) charged all at once, the scene was like a storm of wind and rain.
Before they could even reload after firing cannons and arquebuses once, the enemy cavalry had already entered our camp,... (omitted)
Arrows shot under the setting sun were like rain, and the charging and retreating iron horses were only visible as a blur, making it impossible to see clearly.
In this battle, the allied Joseon and Ming forces suffered a devastating blow, losing over 50% of their troops to death, disappearance, or capture.
The front lines then gradually expanded towards Joseon and the Ming mainland.
