@BigBroCertified @Graham_SFN Very odd how you think Osa is one of the best pass rushing DTs in the league. Wonder what metric you are going off of to come to that conclusion.

@thatfpsguy @Graham_SFN There is nothing promising about a 1 delusional player that needs elite talent around him to even look like a starter. Please don’t mention the defensive rookie of the year award he won getting only 4 sacks.

@Graham_SFN Giving up a 1st, 2nd and 3rd for the best defensive player in the league with a super team friendly contract is a haul?

@DadisFIRE I don’t know why people saying they can’t afford a house because of the financial climate they are in currently always leads to people saying shit like this. It’s a completely different conversation.

🚨Uncomfortable reality.🚨 Many generations younger than Gen X say they have it harder than older Generations. But......Gen X and up had a dad who wore a belt. No kid liked that belt. Stop spending so much energy worrying about how hard/easy your life is compared to others. Focus on your own growth. You have no idea what others have been through....and odds are if you did, you wouldnt want to trade places.

How could families afford a home in the 1950s on a single income? Because they lived within their means and lived without all the "must haves" today. The people in the 1950 were realistic, grateful and happy. People of today (the complainers) are unrealistic, entitled and miserable.

Our grandparents’ “expensive” house in 1950 was ~1,000 sqft. Today’s averages are ~2,500 sqft. We didn’t just raise home prices, we more than doubled the size of the homes.

@DirkMacdougall @ronrule Yes, my boomer dad was able to afford a house because he chose to commute 40 minutes to work every day so we could live in a safe environment with a decent school.

@OsSully @s0ymalia Lol. Just say you want to be subsidized by the young generation and break century long tax precedent because you are a special boy. Either pay the tax or move out because you can’t afford it.

@thatfpsguy @s0ymalia Right. It’s impossible to have a good school without taxes. No one has ever heard of such a thing in the real world. And no one has ever heard of a bad school paid for by taxes.

Here’s a simple solution. If you don’t like the assessment of your house, you should be allowed to change that assessment to an arbitrarily lower number, provided that you’re required to sell to anyone who offers you say 30% above that number
The Refined Populist@RefinedPopulist

If your 1970’s home is now worth $1M, you’re on the hook for ~$10K/yr. Based entirely on unrealized gains. That’s absurd for the fixed-income elderly. Property taxes SHOULD be abolished for Boomers. But they should be abolished for everyone else too. Property taxes are evil.

@ronrule I’m not being asked to move an hour away from my job. I’m being asked to move a state away. Big difference.

The woe is me comments are pretty disappointing. Cheap housing, high paying jobs, a great place to live. Pick any two. Boomers and Gen X moved an hour away from our jobs bc we couldn’t afford the ones near the jobs either. There are < $200k houses all over America. You can still do this. It seems people today would rather complain than solve their problem. 🙄
Ron Rule@ronrule

“The average family in the 1950’s could afford a house on a single income!” 🙄 Sure. That’s because the average house in the 1950’s looked like this. The average family can still afford this house on a single income.

@roguebrogue6 @PaulCapo55 @mungowitz Then I shouldn’t pay a dime into social security, because by the same argument I am subsidizing the elderly for zero benefit. It’ll be insolvent by soon enough. I won’t see a fucking dime of that. If you eliminate property tax, you need to eliminate SS.

@thatfpsguy @PaulCapo55 @mungowitz Because the evaluation is subjective and unrealized. I don't think it should be age based, but paying for services, most of which are education from which they don't directly benefit, continuously at risk of tax deeding by the local government is a good thing to discuss.

How can this possibly not be true? Just straightforwardly, obviously true? If you can't afford your property taxes, you need to sell your house, or get a reverse mortgage and use it to pay the taxes. NO reason to subsidize elderly couples in four bedroom houses.

@OsSully @s0ymalia Yawn. What a ridiculous take. If they stopped providing good schools, roads, emergency services, no matter how nice your house looks on the inside/outside, it would go down in value. Be grateful or sell. I don’t give a fuck. You can’t have your cake and eat it too

@thatfpsguy @s0ymalia It’s a bullshit and retarded argument by envious commie shitbags. If I buy a house and make it nicer so the perceived value is higher, that isn’t a liability I’ve created that now everyone nearby owes the crown more money. That is a service I’ve performed for the community
