@xwanyex Speaking as someone who used to be an atheist, and was pretty fairly good at arguing for the position, I can say pretty confidently that 80-90% of arguments for any given religion or belief in God are shitty and dumb.

You assume too much. There are just as many skeptics out there who see bad religious arguments and agree with me that they are unconvincing and so conclude that if this is the only reason to believe, then they shouldn’t. I stick my neck out to point out that nothing hinges on believing that bad arguments are good ones precisely so that skeptics don’t decide that it is the only path to belief.
If you tell smart people that religion requires them to believe stupid things, then they simply won’t be religious.
Thankfully, Christianity does not require that we endorse bad arguments!

Yes it was. We actually have that too, it’s known as the Sudarium of Oviedo and and it aligns perfectly with the Shroud.
We also have historical records of it going back hundreds of years before the Shroud, further debunking claims that it was forged in the 1300-1400’s.
Even the blood type is the same (AB, an incredibly rare blood type to boot) which would have been impossible to know by any medieval forger.

It’s genuinely mind boggling to me that we literally have the shroud JESUS CHRIST himself was wrapped in when he was put in the tomb for three days, that has his whole body and even blood engraved on it for all to see… And most Christian’s don’t even know it exists.

This is what I mean when I say that a lot of Christian apologetics are embarrassingly bad. “The resurrection must be true, because the apostles were willing to die for it and nobody dies for a lie” is an argument that’s beneath thinking people.
