This puts the Raiders in an incredibly difficult situation. They lose the picks, they have a bunch of deals to be finalized tomorrow done under the assumption Maxx Crosby was gone, and now they may have to turn around and trade him again with the medical question hovering.

When I was a kid growing up in Stockton, there were places everyone took their kids. Practically community institutions - Hammer Skate, Pacific Bowl, the Arcade in Sherwood Mall… Church youth groups, school events, families… By the time I was grown, they’d all become gang-infested no-go zones - screaming, cursing, brawls every weekend, the occasional shooting. Inability or unwillingness to keep this from happening is a sign of probably-fatal disease in any polity.
