PVSD community...things are changing by the day...know that right now we have no cases of COVID-19 in the district. We continue 2 follow all recommendations & are working on cases case by case. I’ll be updating everyone officially Friday.

@pvsdsuper Do these 2 weeks that the school is closed add to the end of the year? And does this effect the seniors and graduation?

@reghancole Good questions. Right we do think these days will be added to end of year since we have until June 30 to put in the 180 days, although that could change. No answer on graduation yet. Waiting for more info

@pvsdsuper @reghancole So despite Wolfe saying that schools will not be penalized for not meeting the 180 day mark we will still add them on?! Sorry to say but as a senior I just won’t show up. This is as much of a state of emergency as we have ever had. Can we please be kept in the loop?

@StanleyHochfeld @reghancole You are reading his order incorrectly. It says we won’t be penalized if we can’t reach the 180 day mark. We have until June 30 to reach 180 days. He could change that but so far he hasn’t.

@pvsdsuper @reghancole But will we be making them up is the question. Thank you for informing me however if we don’t HAVE to make them up due to not being penalized, what would be the point of opening the schools doors and operating for an extra 10 days. Seems inefficient and kinda like a waste.

@StanleyHochfeld @reghancole You aren’t understanding. State law says schools can be in session until June 30. Think of teacher strikes. If you have to go to June 30 to make up days you do. Without him saying 180 days is waived we would have to go to June 30 at least by law.

@StanleyHochfeld @reghancole We need to wait to see what happens in the next two weeks. No easy answers but I’m not going to mislead anyone by saying we won’t have to make them up until I know he has waived the 180 days by June 30 law. Stay tuned.
