Some thoughts for the BBC Sport website on a surreal Saturday in Bristol, where Sheffield Wednesday legend Barry Bannan said an abrupt goodbye that left more questions than answers #SWFC bbc.co.uk/sport/football…

@robstaton I'm sure it'll all come out in the wash. Questions need answers. Why does he want to leave now? How can he be leaving if nobody has officially approached the club? Have the administrators given players blanket permission to speak with other clubs?

@robstaton Rob; what’s your honest opinion on the administrators. I’m getting a sense that you could say a lot but you haven’t….perhaps you’re not allowed to - which I get 👍

@robstaton It’s a shambles and a disgrace. He wants to go, he doesn’t want to. We were told we didn’t need to sell .Yet the club/ administrator, once all too happy to communicate and plead with supporters for help, remains silent. Nothing. Even the Trust are silent. What a fuckin’ mess.

@robstaton Seems like bannan orchestrated the move and you can’t fault him for that he owes us nothing, but just an odd way for it all to come to an end

@robstaton Rob how about he had an arrangement with DC when he took the pay drop that DC would have it all sorted by end Jan and he could go back to his old salary. That cannot happen now obviously He made a huge sacrifice for the good of the club but maybe he believed once too often in DC

@robstaton Also the club could technically turn down any bid for him especially if the Yissa sale means we don't need to sell. This sounds more like an option to terminate his contract if something hasn't happened in an agreed timescale

@robstaton There aren't really any questions to answer. Prior to the EFL process commencing, he needed informing of the future strategy, or via back channels. The preferreds didn't do that, so they've effectively sacked him.

@robstaton I presumed that, as he's in the last 6 months of his contract, he can negotiate a contract elsewhere now. If that is agreed, the agent will inform the club & Millwall will just need to pay a fee for the rest of this season.
