@BBOLU26 @realmario87 @bazlastmanback I wasn’t dismissing parrots ability, he is world class and only getting better, merely showing that Burke has and can operate at that level, and as Barry pointed out, nobody does for Ireland what Burke does for rovers, he’s demonstrably good enough.

You can't tell me Graham Burke doesn't offer something we don't have in the national team. I don't care what level the League of Ireland is seen as. We have nobody doing what he does at any level, with the consistency in that pocket. We need as many different options as possible.

@Kazoochka @bazlastmanback @Nialler6767 It’s probably more like picking a player that plays intermediate club on the panel because he offers something that none of the senior club hurlers have to offer. Plus players in league 1 and the spl have got call ups, the loi isn’t that far off that standard if not almost equal.

The lunacy of 2 different football teams and associations on our small island laid bare once again tonight. All-Ireland football team now.

@nevisconn @Jas782022 @HamillAF So bringing in a new flag and dropping the national anthem when away isn’t a compromise? Yous can’t even stop singing the bouncy and then wonder why catholics don’t want to play for yous.

@97JohnnyWalker @Jas782022 @HamillAF The Tricolour and Ulster flag are brought out during World Cup games. It used to be the four provinces IRFU flag but since 2011 it changed...so so much for a compromise

@nevisconn @Jas782022 @HamillAF Rugby play under a flag with the four provinces of Ireland on it. The tricolour is flown in Dublin and the national anthem is but not away.

@theorangecrunch @thejournal_ie So you don’t want politicians, politicians are any person who is elected to government. If you don’t believe politicians should run a country that makes you either a communist or a fascist. It’s a fact, not just ‘common sense’.

Independent Senator Michael McDowell has called for a referendum to introduce a cap on the number of TDs who can sit in the Dáil in the future. What do you think? jrnl.ie/6996390

@97JohnnyWalker @thejournal_ie I do realise that alright. I would prefer less TD's and who tops the polls on the first count. I would also prefer our ministers to have a solid experience in the post they have been given. I also do not believe that politicians should be running our country.

@theorangecrunch @thejournal_ie You do realise first past the post is far more undemocratic that the system we have now. On top of that we’d be even further into a two party state. Yes you see the 9th count but ff and FG are getting their 2 or 3rd running mate in the 9th count.

Jokes aside…. With both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland knocked out of their respective playoffs tonight. When are we going to have a grown up conversation about uniting both teams? We could be so much stronger together. Put our egos aside and get it done 🙏

@Tamthebam2000 @IFBMedia You expect Irish men to sing an anthem about the king, while listening to the jumpy being sang allowed. Maybe yous orange bigots should look at yourselves and see why Irish men choose to play for the rep.

@97JohnnyWalker @IFBMedia Got nothing to do with Good Friday Agreement. And when we participate as United Kingdom, we all sing GSTK. A very misinformed chap.

@Tamthebam2000 @IFBMedia So the Good Friday agreement didn’t give people in the north the right to choose whether to be British or Irish? Scotland or wales don’t sing. If anyone is misinformed it’s you.

@MarkBrady954 @LordGayko @HamillAF Name me successful football nations where football has as much competition? Studies show that kids get better when they play more, if you split that time in half to play another sport they won’t be as good. Again I’m a gaa fan, but you’re arguing for the sake of arguing.

@97JohnnyWalker @LordGayko @HamillAF Ireland has very little involvement in other sports that other European countries do also though. Not too many do sports like tennis, basketball and ice hockey which are very popular in certain European countries as well as Olympic sports and winter sports.

@MarkBrady954 @LordGayko @HamillAF The Czech republic has double our population and are hardly world beaters in football, you could argue their focus on other sports. In fact they’ve only made one World Cup ever, kinda proving my point.

@97JohnnyWalker @LordGayko @HamillAF There’s an argument to be made that ice hockey is as big as soccer in Czechia for example but I don’t think the Czechs are saying “if we didn’t have ice hockey we’d be much better”.

@MarkBrady954 @LordGayko @HamillAF How does young lads playing different sports not have an effect? Look at the top footballing countries in the world, football is their no 1 sport. Especially with a country our size, gaa is a sacrifice which I’m glad we make. Rugby for me doesn’t get involved as only 7-10

@Tamthebam2000 @IFBMedia That’s why the Good Friday agreement was voted on, so Irish people in Ulster could be Irish. It’s no one else’s fault but the gawa why certain players may not feel comfortable playing for yous or signing gstk. Wales or Scotland don’t sing it…

@MarkBrady954 @LordGayko @HamillAF I’ll respectfully disagree mark. I get what you’re saying but young lads in England are playing soccer 3-5 times a week, Irish kids are are playing 2-3 because gaa training clashes. While I’m a gaa fan myself it’s stupid to say it doesn’t have an affect on our international team

@LordGayko @HamillAF Doesn’t correlate anywhere near as much as people think it does. Most of our soccer players also played GAA and only gave it up when they got offered the chance to play soccer at a higher level. Nobody turns down an academy offer in favour of GAA.
