He’s already raised Clacton’s NHS issues in Parliament, pushed coastal regeneration, and forced national attention back onto the town. But the last MP.. Giles Watling held the seat for 7 years and left no lasting improvements anyone can point to. No major NHS wins. No coastal investment. No national pressure for change. 🤷🏻‍♀️ So if the bar is,.. “has Clacton finally got an MP who actually fights for it?” Then yes.. things have already improved. And let me ask you this.. Were you this critical of Giles? Or does the outrage only start now that Nigel’s the one actually doing something?

@DrJessTaylor I was lucky - the police did come and take away his firearms. We got away some months after, but he trashed our birth certificates, my professional photography albums, and many other personal effects.

I bet every time you’ve victim blamed a woman and said, ‘why didn’t she just leave?’ You hadn’t considered ‘incase he ties up her and her family and kills them all with a crossbow’, as one of the options. We know for most women, the most dangerous moment in abuse is when they try to leave. You are most likely to be seriously attacked or killed as you leave, or just after you leave. That was certainly true for me. Twice. One time resulted in lifelong injuries. Both resulted in police investigations and arrests. Just from choosing to end the relationship. So next time you learn that a woman is stuck in abuse and can’t/won’t leave, maybe reserve your judgement and consider how much risk she knows she is at.

OK, an admission. I, together with my girlfriend at the time and numerous friends, slept on the pavement outside Buckingham Palace the night before Charles and Diana’s wedding. It was a glorious day. But then, over the years, the truth started to emerge and I learned my lesson. The Royals are toxic, their very existence maintains the class structure and all that is wrong with this country. Now, it would seem William has been shagging Rose Hanbury for some time, Kate is nowhere to be seen, and Harry, a good bloke, has had enough and left the institution along with his lovely wife and family. I cannot blame him. This is how I see it, and no longer want any part of it. They are an anachronism that needs to be confined to the history books. #BanTheMonarchy #NotMyKing There, I’ve said it.
