1/ The Colorado Sec. of State has decided to issue an election rule that no CO county may allow a 3rd party audit of the elections. Under CO law (8 CCR 1505-1 Rule 20.10.5 the SoS "may" perform inspections of county election documents and equipment.

Anti-depressant drugs are the biggest scam, because it conditions you to think that the only way you will ever be happy is to be doing drugs. Wait a minute... this is the essence of the drug trade...

Ella Emhoff, stepdaughter of former Vice President Kamala Harris, from 16 December last year: "...I'm just sitting here crocheting, waiting for a friend, and I was just listening to this podcast that The Wall Street Journal put out about SSRIs and anti-anxiety meds and kind of the over-prescription of them in America. "And it was making me think a lot because I've been on SSRIs for over a decade, almost fifteen years probably, and they were calling out the lack of research on long-term use of these things. "They were calling out the lack of information that doctors give about coming off of these meds and kind of the psychological effects they can have. "And it really got me thinking how little I've thought about that, naively, obviously. "But I've noticed that every time I've gone off of it for a week or missed it or for whatever reason, like, it has been really hard for me, and I've had a really hard time. "And I guess this is just something I was wondering if you guys have thought about or relate to or kind of consider when you're thinking about going on meds like that. "Because I don't know if this is something that I feel like is being talked about enough because I feel like so many of us are on these meds, and this is, like, actually happening. "Like, people get off of them, and they kind of break down, and it can be really bad. So yeah, I guess I just want your general thoughts."

The FBI spied on a presidential campaign, surveilled presidential advisers, lied to a FISA court, misled Congress, fabricated a collusion narrative to justify a special counsel, pushed a phony “Russian disinformation” line to shut down scrutiny of Biden corruption, dismissed the Hunter laptop story, spied on members of Congress, raided Mar-a-Lago, and went after selfie grandmas, among many other abuses. The media was totally Ok with all of that. But the moment there is an investigation into an illegal leak of bogus stories to a left wing outlet, suddenly we are told this violates the sacred norms.

@baseballcrank @AlexNowrasteh @grok The criminal cases were not what mattered anywhere to the degree you dream. The DeSantis train came off the tracks when DeSantis said the Ukraine war as a territorial dispute (correct) then 1 week later said we had to support them. DeSantis was not driving the DeSantis train.

The criminal *cases* were what mattered and produced a huge, visible, permanent shift in the polling. It's true that many commentators, like voters, didn't precisely distinguish the two. But also, you're grasping at straws. I'll use the analogy that most immediately comes to mind. I spent decades litigating stock-drop cases. Even co-wrote a published paper on them with two PhD economists. The basic (and, for the lawyers, Basic) presumption of the law, grounded in econometric research, is that stock prices incorporate information. So, for example, if a company is sued, the stock price shifts to respond to both the suit & the market's expectation of what it will cost the company. When those costs materialize, we don't expect the price to react because it is baked in. Whereas, if the case goes away unexpectedly, the stock price may rise. Now, what enraged Republican voters was Trump being charged, but the conviction wasn't likely to affect primary voters a year into the case. Moreover, DeSantis dropped out January 21, Haley on March 6. Trump was only convicted on May 30, by which time the primaries were effectively over.

LOL. The conviction had no effect because the effect was baked in by the indictments. It was the indictments that marked the large, dramatic, immediately visible pivot towards Trump in the primary. DeSantis never recovered the position relative to Trump that he held on the eve of the Bragg indictment.
The Alex Nowrasteh@AlexNowrasteh

Trump's convictions for those silly crimes in NY had zero effect on his support in the GOP primary. But why does it look different? The tldr is that you've been fooled by cross-sectional data.

Justice Jackson recently said that “I have a wonderful opportunity to tell people in my opinions how I feel about the issues, and that’s what I try to do.” For some of her colleagues, that cathartic benefit is coming at too high a cost for the Court. jonathanturley.org/2026/05/05/bas…

I’ve literally seen him at mass among faithful Catholics every single Sunday for weeks on end. He sits quietly and humbly and prays with his family. Not sure what your angle is here but you’re a nothing but a liberal hack posing as a Catholic.

I can absolutely see where Alito is coming from. There’s a certain enjoyment in debating people who are serious, who can argue in good faith, and who operate at a high level. That’s the kind of dynamic that let people like Scalia and Ginsburg be friends in private. For a long time there was an unspoken baseline that, for the highest court in the land, and really the world, you could appoint ideological opposites, but you did not cheapen the institution by lowering the intellectual bar. But the autopen removed that baseline, and with it degraded the level of discourse and eroded the professional respect that made those relationships possible in the first place. So for someone who has spent two decades on the Court, that has to be very painful to watch, seeing an institution slide into idiocracy and performative nonsense. Hence, Alito didn’t mince his words, and it’s not going to get better because Jackson is too stupid to understand what is going on, so she will keep escalating by adding more and more stupidity into the discourse, and those who respect the institution will get less and less patient with it.
Greg Price@greg_price11

Justice Alito has officially had enough of Justice Jackson.

@Ar_Chroi @whignewtons I appreciate the multi post replies, as unhinged as they are. We know some of them because Trump held a dinner at the White House for his top crypto holders, including many foreign nationals and especially including Justin Sun, who bought about $75M for an investigation drop.

I would have written the immunity decision differently but let’s be real: DOJ reindicted Trump on the exact same 4 counts. SCOTUS didn’t shield him; voters did. The person it shielded was Joe Biden. Does anyone doubt this admin would have indicted him for nonsense?
