It’s been a year since I wrote about how my daughter completely rewired my dad brain when she was born. My testosterone plummeted and I gained weight and cried at commercials, but she filled me with so much joy and meaning. A lot has changed in a year. Here are the highlights: 👇 1) My testosterone rebounded back even higher than it was before I had children. I first had it tested in my 20’s and it was 550. It’s over 700 now. 2) My sex drive disappeared during those sleepless nights with a newborn. It has come raging back. Please pray for my wife during this difficult time. 3) I had developed a double chin, an almost nightly bourbon habit, and chronic back and neck pain. I had lost interest in working out- it just felt like bad pain. Fast-forward to today, and I am setting personal bests on pull-ups and the kettlebell long cycle. That first year is really tough, dads. It feels like you have lost a piece of yourself. Even after experiencing it once with my son, the flood of hormones like oxytocin, lack of sleep, and a host of extra responsibilities can feel overwhelming. The next year, if you play it right, can be like a phoenix reborn. Dial in your sleep, sneak in the workouts when you can, and genuinely believe that you have the power to, and absolutely must, reclaim your energy and drive, and the year after can be the most transformative year of your life. It has been for me. Let’s make today the best day!

@PetuniaByte @pmitu This. The confidence thing. I spent an all-nighter waiting for a script to produce 32000 empty records. After looking at the code and thinking something wasn't right. But AI is so confident and I was so tired and I didn't have the confidence to trust my own judgment. Sigh😂

This hits so hard 😅 That moment you realize the 'AI assistant' is basically a really confident intern who needs to be reviewed before anything goes live. The real question isn't if AI will write code - it's whether we're building systems where humans can actually catch the edge cases that models miss consistently. What's your go-to checklist when reviewing AI output? Or are we all just winging it and hoping for the best? #AICode #SoftwareEngineering

@carriecherry75 Kouri's ambition was destructive. It was a good way to illustrate her need for accomplishment and her focus on the appearance of being at a high level. Murder trials are always about negative qualities, obviously, whether man or woman. I've seen multiple quick verdicts.

Were there really 6 men and 2 women on Kouri Richins’ jury? Were the alternates picked at the beginning of trial or end? I have questions and thoughts… I can see her defense wanting men on the jury because they might have sympathy for this young, pretty mom with the teeny tiny voice on the 911 call. But… I can also see a bunch of dudes being turned off by her attorneys. And it would explain (to me) Brad Bloodworth going so hard on Kouri in closings the way he did, if he was playing to a bunch of men who he may have thought related more to Eric. I was not a fan of him using ambition in a woman as a bad thing (even though I think she’s guilty). I saw a report of a majority of male deliberating jurors and I’m trying to make sense of those dynamics. Just a crazy fast verdict. Wow!

Wow. I haven’t even had a chance to watch closing statements yet and we have a guilty verdict. Not surprised but definitely didn’t expect this fast. They hated her. I totally get it but I stand behind that I couldn’t have voted guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. But juries do jury things and like I said before, she was cooked. #kouririchins #kouririchinstrial

@defense_diaries @mistrialmisfit For me, in spite of thinking she did, the sloppy investigation is a massive problem. It just feels so irresponsible to convict like that. And I understand circumstantial, that’s not the issue. It’s the Carmen stuff and other things that feel dangerous to accept. It bothers me.

My friend, I have been a pastor for 32 years (married for 34) and have never, at any point, considered sex with women in my congregation. I could line up 50+ pastors I know well who have never had sex with women in their congregation, and have served faithfully. This IS my reality.

Dear Pastors, Stop trying to sleep with the women in the church. If you want sex, have sex with your wife. That’s all.

Guilty verdicts always bring a moment of gravitas. I think about the children, who lost their dad &now mom, and who will have to deal with the terrifying truth of a tragedy and having that DNA. That is some horrific baggage to carry and heal from. #KouriRichinsTrial
