I am imploring that the collective internet take a step back and understand how the justice system works, that this is not a plea of insanity at the time of the murder, and incompetence to stand trial is not a defense of the crime. It is a constitutionally protected right, that you have to be able to understand the proceedings and help in your defense. Also, this trial is not over, the defense and prosecutor agreed to a 180 day hold, and the trial will continue once it is determined he is fit to stand trial. I like everyone else want to see him found guilty for the heinous crime, but the rage bait/ignorance over this is too much. There is more to the story, and it is not good. This attacker had been to the church before. The pastor helped him the first time. The second time, the pastor ran him off. If memory serves, the attacker had made threats. The "security team" in the church saw the attacker come in the church that day and recognized him under his crazy disguise. They knew he was crazy and dangerous. At first, he sat down near the back. Then he got up and moved to the front and sat down. They did nothing about it. After the attacker was shot dead and was down on the floor, one or more armed members came running down aisles toward the front, pointing their weapons toward the front just over the heads of people in the pews, like they were going to "get in on the action." It was a stupid, stupid thing for them to do. This could have been stopped from the very beginning. In a TV news interview not many days after that, the security team leader who shot the attacker said he went home that day and "put an account of the incident on Facebook." What? Who does something like that? Shoot and kill another human, then run home and post the details on Facebook. He welcomed the TV interview, which I watched, and in my opinion he was lapping up the attention he was getting. It was disgusting. After that, he showed up in USCCA advertising. That, too, was disgusting. There was absolutely nothing of good ethos in this incident.

My Wife dropped our daughter off at school swim this morning at 6am. Wife pulled up to our house and saw a glow from the neighbors back yard so she woke me up. Garage was going up fast. I was able to get to all neighbors awake and outside while she called 911. Everyone’s safe and doesn’t look like fire would have jumped to the other houses anyway. But still a wild morning for our quiet world.
