@cholubaz Looking like great performance. Question is, could I get the airplane out and started before either the plane or I freeze up?

@MCCCANM I’m actually impressed. I don’t think my husband even knows where his hat is any more.
English

Back to airlines…
I hate the hat. You know the one, the “bus driver” or “wheel cap” hat. 50 years old is not far away, I have a full head of hair & it’s not grey…I like to show it. The military / my family also taught me we don’t wear hats inside, and that’s a tougher habit to break than you might think.
So, I “forget” the hat in my car. Not needed. The uniform is full of little markers that I’m a pilot…at some point it’s all overkill & silly. Like a North Korean General covered in medals.
However…
This trip back east – where the temperature in EWR is 26° w/ a wind chill of 10° – called for wearing our new uniform “Tech Jacket”. It’s almost like a trench coat, nearly down to my knees, and has no markings on it at all. Just very dark, midnight blue. The collar stands up & has a hood zipped inside. Very warm. To my surprise, I like it.
Sorry, no pictures of me, but friends…I have found a uniform combo where I’m happy to wear the hat. The brim is pulled down low, not tilted up. You can smile & not look aggressive this way, but tilting it up looks goofy, like it’s party time. When there are not an abundance of other markers of your position, the hat makes sense & works…it’s not a peacock thing.
So…the trench with just a bit of tie showing & the hat is a perfect combo. It is, so far, the only time I’ve found that I don’t hate the hat.
