@C4Vi

I write code and do other nerdy stuff. Also if you are looking at my bio trying to find something to ad hominem against me, reconsider that. It never works.

@BenisKen @AvietheDoram Agreed «no dice» is something you have to use. UNLESS you know that the players have tricks to start boost their way into a hit, and you want to coax them into using it, but then you need to declare «you need a total of X» when you start.

@AvietheDoram Yeah if it can’t be done, don’t even let them roll. If you let the players roll there should be a chance of success. A good DM should know how to spin any rollable scenario into a success or fail.

@CyberRacheal As long as the netmask is /30 or wider (lower number) Network 192.168.1.4/30 will contain both 192.168.1.0/29 (all the way down to /16) will also contain both.

Interviewer: You are setting up a small home office. You have two laptops connected to the same unmanaged switch. You assign one the IP 192.168.1.5 and the other 192.168.1.6. Can these two devices communicate with each other without a router being present? YES or NO? 🤔

This is the thing. Democracy just means that the people somehow rules, usually by elections. A parliamentary monarchy (with elections) is also a democracy. The constitutional republic part is a particular implementation of a democracy. It is usually implemented to avoid «tyranny of the majority» scenarios, by limiting what can and cannot be done by elections. Anyway, you could have a king in the executive branch, and it would still be a democracy if the legislative branch is elected. Is it a better system? Perhaps not. It does stop blurring of the legislative and executive branches that some republics suffer from.

@MoronMining @Reddit_Retards Unironically that kind of makes sense. As stupid as it is. They want «someone» to do it because indeed someone with their personal values would not want to or be bothered to. Someone with the same left/right leaning as them: hell yes they would do it.

@CyberRacheal C, RFC-1918. 192.168.0.0/16 range B, interestingly is a RFC-3927 IPv4 link-local address, so while not private, it is private in some respects. (But not the right answer in a black/white answer) A is an attempt to confuse us with the 10.0.0.0/8 block.

@KarthiDreamr @stupidtechtakes Way more magical. And super weird. A lot of the quantum algorithms that are available have this property that it has a probability of getting the right answer, and the probability goes up with time, and by averaging a bunch of repetitions you can get the correct answers.

a 15-bit key has only 32,768 possible values bitcoin uses a 256-bit private key. a 256-bit key has 2^256 values. that's over 116 quattuorvigintillion, or 116 with 75 zeros i think it's safe to say your bitcoin will probably be safe for the time being

I’m guessing C was there as a trick, people will reflexively see 192.* and go «that’s it» (only 192.168.0.0/16 or 192.168.* are that) The 8.8.8.8 feels magical. Sorry I’m over analysing a multiple choice question looking at why someone might think the wrong answer is correct. IMHO the choice of good «wrong» answers is what makes a good multiple choice question.

Oh yes totally! There should be a L2 and L3 rep available for the non-stupid caller. The reason why the L1s are so stupid is because they cost less. If they have the knowledge you specifically ask about, they'd be L2 or L3. In my experience (with my ISP) if I say the right magic words, they'll escalate me.

> Gateway, broadcast and all the other predefined addresses on the subnet depending on the design you have. >Additionally it is way easier to spot the location of host with numbers than it is with letters. No? That's your personal opinion. I find it a lot easier when every subnet is a /64. So Not relevant for IPv6 is what I'm hearing? Also the gateway is not a predefined address. It's common to use the first address on the subnet but it is in no way shape or form the rule. As an alleged network engineer with "12 year of experience" you should know that.
