@Steve_Dangle It’s totally looney tunes, made more ridiculous by the fact no one’s gotten a similar suspension before or since. I feel insane saying it, but there is tangible evidence the DoPS only hands out these types of goofy punishments against the Leafs, out of all 32 teams!

We have a process in place that’s consistent, and we have a team that works for me, and together with me, that evaluates all these plays. A very experienced team, a veteran team. Guys that have been there since the beginning of the department. Not to mention all the former players that have a large set of experiences playing NHL games, accolades. Some of the best guys that have played the game work for this department help make decisions. So, our process, I feel very confident in. We’ve got great guys who make these decisions, and I think the players should be confident in this team to do so.”

Asked Auston Matthews’ agent, Judd Moldaver about his response to the ruling. Here is his reply: “In light of the obvious severity of the play, I am disappointed and shocked the league would allow such a ruling. A phone hearing and 5 games is laughable and preposterous. Edmonton has played 24 of 40 games on the road thus far. Florida is at the other end with only 15 of their first 40 on the road. FLA and TOR will have much tougher 2nd half of season in regard to Home and away games.

Oilers and Tomasek mutually agree to part ways. He’s going back to SHL, but has to clear NHL waivers first. Really good guy. Tough lineup to crack.

Binnington has a -10.3 goals saved above expected this season. He ranks 74 out of 75 goals in GSAX via Clear Sight Analytics. His expected Sv% is -3.2%, which works out to allowing 3.2 more goals every 100 shots. If you are buying on Binnington, you have to buy low. 4Nations was four games. Can't use that as the reason you overpay.
