“Most great investments begin in discomfort. The things most people feel good about – investments where the underlying premise is widely accepted, the recent performance has been positive, and the outlook is rosy – are unlikely to be available at bargain prices." -Howard Marks

Non-stick cookware is one of the most pervasive and hazardous household sources of PFAS exposure. PFAS are called “forever chemicals” because they can remain in the body on the order of years. They’re used to make products non-stick, water or oil-repellent, and stain-resistant. The key issue is adding heat. Heating PFAS-based non-stick pans increases the potential for exposure, especially as coatings age or degrade. PFAS have been linked to endocrine disruption and adverse health outcomes, so minimizing avoidable sources like frequently heating old/scratched non-stick cookware makes sense. My recommendation? Choose stainless steel, seasoned cast iron, carbon steel, or high-quality ceramic cookware instead. They're the simplest, lowest-risk, and most effective alternatives. From my recent appearance on @triggerpod.

I’d cancel your AG1 subscription. They just completed a clinical trial and the results show no clinical benefit.  This has been obvious for years.  AG1 has no real product substance and is fundamentally an influencer heist.   Two simple alternatives (75% and 56% less $), outperform AG1 in randomized clinical trials. Two simple mono-ingredient alternatives that outperform AG1: 1. Chicory inulin 12 g daily ($20/mo) 2. Resistant starch 30 g daily for 12 weeks ($35/mo) AG1 is not worth $79/mo. AG1 study results (4-weeks, N=30): + No significant changes in blood biomarkers compared to placebo (CBC, CMP, lipids). + No statistically significant improvement in digestive quality-of-life scores (p = 0.058). + No significant metabolic or inflammatory biomarker benefits of any kind within the scope of what was measured in the trial. + Only small shifts in microbiome taxa but clinically irrelevant at this stage. + The intervention did not increase microbiome diversity compared to placebo. Alpha diversity was unchanged, and the taxa changes seen were only from pre- to post-analysis within each group. Between-group differences were limited, and the placebo actually showed similar or even potentially larger shifts. This means the observed changes fall within normal placebo-driven variability, not a real treatment effect. No global microbiota shifts were detected. Chicory inulin 12 g in constipation patients + 12 g of chicory inulin daily for 4 weeks (compared to maltodextrin placebo) + Global microbiota shifts: enrichment in butyrate-producing Bifidobacterium and Anaerostipes, and depletion of the pro-inflammatory Bilophila. +The effect was seen by comparing intervention vs placebo in a cross-over setting, a very rigorous type of clinical analysis in which each person serves as their own control, eliminating a lot of individual random noise. + The trial also met its primary objective by improving constipation symptoms in the targeted patient group. Resistant starch daily 30g for 12 weeks in older adults + Significant increase in Bifidobacterium in both middle-aged and elderly participants, with an increase in the beneficial microbiome byproduct butyrate, and reductions in Proteobacteria (including inflammatory Escherichia–Shigella) in the elderly. + Resistant starch also significantly reduced blood glucose, and produced greater reductions in blood insulin and insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) in the elderly group.

@PauloMacro Maybe they can sell back the pounds at a premium to utility companies and make up the difference by not mining it themselves? Being the most trusted western uranium supplier seems to be in their favor if they have to buy pounds in the market.

Ok. They told you definitely *a month ago* that CCJ — a miner who’s purpose is to pull earth out of the ground and sell it — is a net buyer of 9-10mm lbs by year end because well, you know, that’s all part of their master plan to unfuck themselves in a squeezing market. 8/

I pretty much never comment on single stocks in public because I don’t need batsht replies that randomly result and I don’t need bad blood with mgmts, but this deserves to be flagged as an exhibit in why it still matters to show up for the quarterly call. 1/10

@SFarringtonBKC It’s wild how sentiment shifted. Just a month ago considered left for dead and had all the elements of a contrarian play. Seems like a “when, not “if” thesis and is playing out now!

@FordWealth My point is Id rather buy a good company than a bad company. I plan to hold 2-3 years . id bet my last penny that IMPUY does better than SBSW in that time. Management decisions in SBSW have been disastrous.

$UUUU @Energy_Fuels is the biggest no-brainer play in the crititical mineral (#REE) processing/refining space that should* benefit from Trump admin. If the US is serious about strengthening critical minerals supply chains, the massive Toliara HMS+Monazite project integrated with the processing hub in White Mesa is a great candidate for government support. And all of that is on top of White Mesa being the only operational uranium mill in the US. *no guarantee it will

Another masterclass offshore article by Tommy 🙏🏼
Tommy Lee@TommyDeepwater

2025 Outlook: Semisubs $ODL.OL $RIG $VAL $NE $SDRL $NOL.OL Link in Bio. Free. Summary: Semisubs are generally designed for more harsh environments such as the Norwegian Continental Shelf, whereas drillships most often work in more benign conditions in the Golden Triangle (US GoM, LatAM and West Africa). Many differences exist amongst semisubs, notably including eligibility to work in Norway. The largest market for semisubs, Norway, was viewed as a mature market during the last newbuild cycle 10+ years ago. Accordingly, fewer newbuild semisub orders were made than drillships which foresaw more growth in Brazil and West Africa at the time. As we head into 2025, the Norwegian semisub market is healthy with strong utilization and recent dayrate prints in the mid-$400k’s to low-$500k’s. Semisub eligibility in Norway is a good club to be in but has premium dues (SPS) every five years. Semisubs without eligibility to work in Norway come in different shapes and sizes but are more likely to be idle and earning discounted dayrates due to weaker option value. The Norwegian Offshore Directorate published research in 2024 stating Norway’s offshore discoveries over the last 20 years are valued at 3x the costs incurred on a NPV basis. Norway generally does not have headline discoveries, although benefits from a high quantity of smaller discoveries to support lower cost infrastructure-led capex often cited with ~$35/boe breakevens. Exploration drilling is trending positively and is likely to continue in coming years based on Norwegian E&P public commentary. H/T @EivindEnd and recommended follow

This year I’m taking my health and fitness from good to great. I need to be firing on all cylinders 24/7. My #1 goal is to get my waist under 30.5 inches and maintain through YE (currently at 32.75). Here are the rest of my fitness goals: Deadlift 1RM of 455# (currently at 345, but my lifetime PR is 420) Average 10K+ daily steps (averaged 12,303 in 2024 and 10,334 in ‘23) 20 unbroken pull-ups (hit 11 last week) Run 365 miles Run a sub 5:30 mile (ran a 6:40 mile in June, but I hit 5:45 back in 2017) Run a 5K (3.1 miles) under 20 minutes (ran it in 23:34 last summer) Try some type of fighting such as bjj Sober through August No more than 18 days where booze is consumed. Time to get to work! All gas, no brakes.
