It was inspiring to hear today about how @OVSJG_DC, @DCBarFoundation, the VAN, and the ATJ Initiative complement one another and work together to collectively do more to support District residents - government cannot do it alone.

Without the ATJ Initiative, there would be no clinic for DC workers to better understand and navigate their rights in employment. - Ryan Downer, @WashLaw4CR

So glad to see Daniel del Pielago from ⁦@EmpowerDC⁩ (and one of our newest Commissioners) talk about its community outreach to help resolve cases between tenants and landlords.

“It was such a stressful time but at the eleventh hour ⁦@LegalAidDC⁩ answered the phone and made sure I had all I needed. I Would’ve been homeless without them. Legal aid is necessary and appreciated.”

⁦⁦@LegalAidDC⁩ helped me enter in a settlement I couldn’t have resolved on my own. It is vital to the residents of the District of Columbia.

@DcKincare clients say ATJ Initiative made sure they had support to care for children in their family who otherwise would have entered the foster care system. "They help us step up to care for children when no one else will. We do it out of love." ❤️

This is really cool. Great idea @TzedekDC ! Nonlawyers who receive training will now be able to help with civil matters in D.C., as part of a new order issued by D.C. Courts that expands access to legal assistance. wtop.com/dc/2026/02/dc-…

The cuts happening at the Washington Post are a disgrace to journalism and an affront to truth-telling. I’m especially disappointed that the local news this region has relied upon has been gutted. My heart goes out to all those impacted.

We are so grateful for the team's work to highlight the importance of access to justice and equity in our region and the government's role in strengthening the lives of its residents

Devastated at the layoffs of talented and deeply committed colleagues at The Post, including the many stellar journalists in the Metro section who lost their jobs today. I'm heartbroken for them, heartbroken for our city and region. You do not deserve this from your local paper
