@heitner Don’t they just have to use your “I’m withdrawing from this school” trick?

One question that is popping up as a 5-in-5 rule change is gaining momentum: Will affected players get another transfer portal window? I’d imagine not. But some may claim prejudice, because they didn’t enter the portal under the assumption they had no remaining eligibility.

Some college basketball coaches want a shift to allowing players 5 years to play 5 seasons. Others don’t. What they all want is clarity on whether there will be a rule change. And they want it now. The uncertainty is causing a lot of confusion for coaches, players, and agents.

@SportsWebMD @CHawk_Talk @SeattleSports Nah, many times they are wearing the wrong style. Get him one with the correct fit, and yes- he’s can wear a 10.5. Not sure this is the case with him, but it happens to athletes more than you’d think until they get their foot scanned.

@E4intelligence @CHawk_Talk @SeattleSports And now magically his foot isn't wide anymore, and he can wear a 10.5? Didn't realize that we had so many cobblers on here. My memory of buying shoes as a kid was always having my foot jammed in that little metal thing, person was like you're this size, and that's what I got.

Erik Kennedy (#Seahawks director of equipment) said on @SeattleSports that JSN was wearing a 12 shoe at Ohio State. Hamstring injuries ensued. Hawks put him in a 10 1/2. No more hammy issues. Hawks were one of the first teams to do body scans and customize gear for each player.

@SportsWebMD @CHawk_Talk @SeattleSports Width of ones foot often plays a role in them choosing the wrong size. Especially athletes who want to wear shoes they think will make them faster. They compensate for the lack of width of certain shoes by wearing larger sizes. And yes as much as 1 1/2 to 2 sizes.

Legendary: Devin Hester only watches the first play of the Super Bowl every year to make sure no player takes the opening kickoff for a touchdown and then turns off the TV. "Every year I watch the Super Bowl for the first 15 seconds just to see if somebody else gonna do it. And then after that, I turn the TV [off]." Hester is the only NFL player in NFL history to do this.

I’ve covered SEC basketball a long time and this is an example of how a video doesn’t tell the whole story. Florida Associate HC Carlin Hartman, one of the best assistants in America, was defending his players. Specifically, he was defending SEC Player of the Year front runner Tommy Haugh, who was the target of a flagrant 1 elbow and shove late in the game from Texas A&M’s Rylan Griffen. The flagrant came with the Aggies down 20+ on their home floor. Haugh embodies everything right about college basketball. A 3 ⭐️ kid turned national champion turned potential All-American. There’s no place for what Griffen did in college basketball. Tensions remained after Griffen’s flagrant and Florida dominating on A&M’s home floor. Hartman, who should be a Power 5 HC soon, was doing what great coaches do and advocating for his kids. Who wouldn’t want to play for a coach like Hartman?
Parker Rehm@parker_rehm

A #Florida assistant got into it with #Aggies players after the game and both teams had to be restrained after an 86-67 Gators win. Here's my view of what went down:

A bunch of people are upset that the NCAA/conferences/member schools created a regulatory regime that many courts have held is illegal in a number of specific areas. You're all mad at attys, but attys aren't rendering the adverse rulings to the NCAA et al. Courts are doing so. Your ire should be directed at the NCAA/conferences/member schools for not being able to draft rules that the courts will uphold.

NCAA prez Charlie Baker says schools backing eligibility lawsuits "don't want to play by the same rules." But the rules haven't been clear for years, and the NCAA created that confusion. You don't get to light the match and complain about the fire. The Bediako, Bailey & Aguilar matters aren't about rogue schools. They're about arbitrary, inconsistently enforced rules that crumble under legal pressure. The NCAA only changes when forced by courts. That's the problem. linkedin.com/pulse/newslett…
