I had a massive reality check last night about how Instagram is actively destroying long-term relationships by convincing us that love is supposed to be a 24/7 "soft life" aesthetic. It was late, the apartment was stifling, and the power had randomly tripped. I was lying in the dark, scrolling through IG, watching a reel of some influencer getting surprised with a Cartier bracelet and a baecation. The caption was: “Never settle for less.” Honestly, I let the internet poison my mind for a second. That familiar, creeping panic started settling in. I started wondering if my own relationship had lost the "spark" because we hadn’t done any grand romantic gestures lately. We were basically just splitting the crushing weight of adulthood. Then I looked over at my man. There was no curated aesthetic. No cinematic background music. He was completely exhausted from his own day, but there he was, sitting on the bare floor in the dark, using his phone flashlight to help me count and sort out my ID Vogue orders so my morning deliveries wouldn't be delayed. The entire Instagram illusion just shattered for me. Social media has gaslit us into believing that if a relationship isn’t actively triggering your anxiety with constant highs and butterflies, it’s "dead." We mistake peace for boredom. We want a burning fire, completely forgetting that fires eventually burn the house down. The harsh truth? Most long-term relationships aren't held together by overwhelming passion. They are held together by a VOW to look at each other in the middle of a brutal economy and say, "I am not going to let you drown today." The internet will call that "settling." But the internet doesn't know a damn thing about what it actually takes to keep the water out and the house warm when things get dark. Stop letting a 60-second PR campaign ruin your real life.

I was sexually assaulted today inside the bus by an unknown lady. We all know how commercial buses can be, a bit tight and uncomfortable. So there I was, sitting beside this young lady and because the bus was tight, our bodies were brushing off on each other.. At some point I felt her boobs rubbing off the back of my arm, I didn’t really read any meaning to it cos these things can mistakenly happen when you are in a tight space with someone like that. But it started feeling like the boobs were consciously touching my arm. Not long after that I started feeling her breathe a little harder and each time I try to move my arm away from her boobs, she leans forward for them to continue making contact. She started moving funny in a non-noticeable sexual way. I felt so uncomfortable but I just didn’t wanna make a scene. It went on for a while till I was forced to get down at somewhere that wasn’t even my bus stop. I just can’t stop shaking. I feel violated and when I close my eyes the whole scenario just plays at the back of my head. I think I’ll need therapy.

"Imagine a woman coming into our lab to do a pregnancy test, and her result came out positive. Then she proceeded to do a pregnancy scan. When the sonographer checked, she was few weeks gone. Do you know the next thing that came out of her mouth? She said she wanted the result to be backdated. That is, if she was eight weeks gone, the result should be written as four or five weeks. The sonographer was like, no, she can never do that. This woman started begging. The sonographer asked her, “Why should I backdate your result?” And she said the pregnancy does not belong to her husband. So the sonographer should help her backdate the result so that when she calculates it, it will fall on her husband. The sonographer said she can never, ever do such a thing. She refused. This lady then started begging and even thr£aten!ng that she would t@ke her l!f£ if she didn't do it. She had to call our attention so we could be witnesses to what was going on. So the sonographer gave her the correct result and told her, “Madam, whatever is written on this result is exactly what is recorded in my system for evidence tomorrow. In case you say I altered your result, I can easily show proof that it is the same thing I gave to you.” The lady left the lab a&gr!ly. Do you know what sh0cked me the most? The next day, she came back and told us that what we could not do for her, another lab did it for her. So like this now, her innocent husband will father a child that is not his. Imagine having the heart to give your pregnancy to another man. When that child grows up and finds out that that man is not his father, what will you say to him...? - Lab worker shares how a married woman begged for her pregnancy result to be backdated to hide her infidelity, sparking reactions online.
