@NickBenderKMBC Last night’s coverage was absolutely embarrassing, as has most of it this Spring. You do not have a requirement to be on the air constantly, as was falsely cited multiple times last night by your team. There are multiple ways to get warnings in 2026. Do better.

It’s been an extremely active storm season, and that stretch continued last night across the Kansas City metro area. I’m so sorry that so many are waking up once again without power and facing a long day of tree and debris cleanup. Sorry folks and I’ve got friends at most of these TV stations, but why can’t Channel 9 have the basketball game on Channel 29. Everything weather wise is east of Kansas City right now and I’m more than fine with weather being a priority. BUT, why isn’t the hoop game Ch. 29???

Things @kmbc could easily do right now instead of interrupt the NBA Finals to help their viewers out: -Stream their coverage on their app and website -Put their coverage on their CW channel -Make the NBA coverage and audio live on KMBC instead of listening to these 2 vamping

lol @kmbc gaslighting the public saying they must interrupt the NBA finals for a tornado warning. That is absolutely not true. They have a requirement to notify but not be on the air constantly. It’s all about ratings and “competitiveness” Go back to the game, it’s 2026.
