I've interacted with a lot of Canadian 51st staters on this website. None are progressives but every single one is still liberal. Their only foundation seems to be "freedom" and "more money for me". No 51st stater is actually right wing.

One distinction that I do notice in terms of immigration and culture when it comes to Canada vs. the US is that Americans are far more interested in Latino culture than Canadians are in Punjabi culture. A lot of Canadians get really mad when you suggest they should care, in fact.

The Germans are longing for war with Russia. They try it at least once or twice a century. It is a deep psychosis in the German psyche that rises up every couple of generations and propels Germans to throw themselves against the Russian wall. It always ends in defeat & disaster. Germans have a psychotic hatred of Russia for defeating them every time. If they are stupid enough to go to war with Russia again this century it will be even worse than Barbarossa.
