@ScottKacsmar Interesting cuz Shaq LeBron and MJ should’ve won MVP those other years but this season i actually think they got MVP right with SGA

Fuzzy, my man! Long time. You should follow this guy @ScottKacsmar He's a football guy, but his basketball takes are 🔥 Yes, I'd say 7 FMVPs for Russell. Based mainly on stats in the Finals, here's my picks for Celtics FMVP: 1957 Heinsohn 1959 Heinsohn 1960, 61, 62, 63: Russell 1964 Sam Jones (maybe Russell) 1965, 66 Russell 1968 Russell (maybe Havlicek) 1969 West won the first FMVP. Havlicek should have won if they picked a Celtic

@ScottKacsmar The great @grisingTRS did a thread on this years ago going thru each finals, if i recall correctly his assumption was 7, so I’ve been using that number ever since

@FuzzyRaffa I have always wondered how many FMVPs Russell wins if they had it every year.

@MythNix @BarryOnHere I’ll Die on this hill, Dallas was JUST better plain and simple 6/7 guys will beat 3 every time And back then Dallas had coaching advantage to boot plus Dirk and Kidd all time players been thru wars in the past had all the motivation as well, most complete team top to bottom

This is probably the least infuriating playoff series LeBron has lost. He's ancient & his team is way worse than his opponent. It's going exactly as expected. In terms of most infuriating, I would say: 1) 2023 vs Nuggets (Jamal Murray turning into the GOAT for 4 games ruined LeBron's last real chance for a ring. LA would've destroyed Miami in the Finals) 2) 2015 vs Warriors (extremely winnable if not for Kyrie getting hurt, this one really gets me mad) 3) 2017 vs Warriors (KD made it unfair, still, even w/o KD, GS would've been tough to beat, but possible) 4) 2018 vs Warriors (had no chance to win but still very annoying b/c his 2018 PO run was legendary & seeing him have nothing to show for it was/is sad.) 5) 2009 vs Magic (literally the greatest playoff run any player has ever had was ruined by Orlando's fluke 3 point shooting. Not sure CLE would've beaten LA in Finals tho) "Where is 2011?" In the moment it was the worst. But it's pretty cut & dry. LeBron got what he deserved. He didn't show up. There's not much to think about IMO. I also don't know if MIA still wins the next 2 if they won in 2011. Motivation matters.

LeBron dominated for the majority of his playoff career and gets called a loser because his teams weren't good enough to support him. Tom Brady played like shit for most of his playoff career and gets called the GOAT because his teams were good enough to carry him. This will always bother the fuck out of me.

Sucks for both Philadelphia & Detroit that their 3-1 comebacks don't count because they play in the East. Nothing any Eastern Conference team has done actually matters since June 1998.

Being the best player in the world is often a curse in team sports because most of the GMs in that position fall into the trap of "we don't need more cause we have Him" and you end up with very flawed teams that almost always come up short in the playoffs. Marino Peyton LeBron Mike Trout Aaron Rodgers Connor McDavid Jokic If it was tennis or golf, they'd have the most majors. But it's not like that

@MythNix @sammymac1071 The line says it all, look at some of these series prices for favs in these playoffs alone, the Heatles were the most public team of that era with HC and still only opened as a -150 fav, closed around -175 cuz of public but shows how unbiased numbers basically say the weee equal

@sammymac1071 And they’re reduced to “old” and “one All Star” by everyone. It was peak Dirk Kidd was 28th in BPM Chandler was FAR better than people realize. Terry = 1998 Reggie Miller People commented loudly in the 2011 Finals that Marion was playing elite defense

People don’t understand how good the 2011 Mavs were. They closed games with the greatest performing 5 man lineup in the last 30 years. They had 3 Top 30 players—Dirk, Kidd and Chandler—plus Terry and Marion. It’s the greatest Death Lineup ever…but together for only one year.

Even after all the unprecedented shit we've seen LeBron do this postseason, in a week or so his haters will be on here bragging about him getting destroyed by OKC and talking about how his legacy is actually worse off than it was before. Cruel world.

@AaronLarsuel @twnkiehuntr Steph way too high People gotta realize he’s a specialist, although can be a very dangerous weapon but relies on teammates way too much, look at play in game yea he was hitting 3s but dray tackling ppl running double screens to get him open and playing lockdown d on other end
