You hear this line everywhere among Indian people “I love maa ke haath ka khana” Sounds emotional, pure, feels like love but it’s not. It’s one of the most normalized forms of unpaid, invisible labor in Indian homes, wrapped nicely in words like love, care, and sacrifice so no one questions it. Go back 20-30 years - Cooking wasn’t convenient. No quick gas stoves, no shortcuts. Coal, smoke, hours in the kitchen. Morning, afternoon, night. Same cycle every single day. One person doing it all. And the rest of the family sitting comfortably saying “Wah, maa ke haath ka khana” You’re not appreciating love. You’re benefiting from someone’s sacrifice and calling it love so you don’t feel guilty. but no one asking a simple question - Why is one human being dedicated to cooking and cleaning for the entire family every day? “Why not baap ke haath ka khana” Why not bhai ke haath ka khana”, Why not everyone takes responsibility The truth is simple - You don’t love “maa ke haath ka khana” You love convenience And instead of fixing that imbalance, we glorify it. We romanticize it. We turn it into culture. If you cook every day for 5-10 years, people will start loving your food too. There is nothing magical about “maa ka haath”. It’s repetition, skill, and effort. But we don’t want to admit that. Because then the next question becomes uncomfortable. Why aren’t you contributing? Don’t say “she does it out of love” Love is not one-sided labor, love is participation, love is saying today you sit, I’ll cook. Love is shared responsibility, not emotional manipulation. I still remember when I was young my mother eating after everyone finished. At that time it felt normal. Today it feels wrong. This isn’t love. This is conditioning. Passed from one generation to another without anyone questioning it. It needs to stop. Next time someone says “I love maa ke haath ka khana” Ask them to cook every day for a week Let’s see how long the love lasts. Stop glorifying sacrifice when it’s actually imbalance.

मेरे हिसाब से संस्कृत भाषा को भारतीय स्कूलों के करिकुलम से हटा देना चाहिए और इसे केवल मास्टर्स और पीएचडी स्तर के कार्यक्रमों में ही पढ़ाया जाना चाहिए। संस्कृत एक भावनात्मक विषय हो सकता है, लेकिन अगर तार्किक रूप से सोचें तो इसे स्कूलों में पढ़ाने का कोई विशेष औचित्य नहीं बनता। जिस भाषा को न तो लोग रोज़ बोलते हैं और न ही वह किसी की मातृभाषा है, उसे जबरदस्ती स्कूली शिक्षा में शामिल रखना देश के लिए केवल नुकसानदायक निर्णय है। इससे बेहतर है कि छात्र अपने समय का उपयोग किसी अधिक उपयोगी और व्यावहारिक विषय में करें, जिससे वे भविष्य में कुछ बेहतर हासिल कर सकें।

आज बेटे का 9th क्लास का रिजल्ट लेने स्कूल गया सुबह. स्कूल जाकर प्रिंसिपल से मिला, बेटे का रिजल्ट लिया, ठीकठाक था, सबने बेटे की तारीफ करी. मैंने उनकी टीचर से एडमिशन और किताबों की बात करने एक कमरे में गया जहाँ books दी जा रहीं थीं. मैंने पूछा 10th के लिए बुक सेट कितने का है? तो उसने कहा 6200 का है. मैं उसकी बात सुनकर हैरान रह गया. क्योंकि same बुक सेट मैंने स्टेशनरी की दुकान से पता किया था दो दिन पहले तो उसका रेट 4700 था... इतना फर्क?? मतलब NCERT की किताबों के स्कूल उस बाजार रेट इतने अलग होते हैँ?? हर साल सिलेबस बदले जाने के नाम पर स्कूल वाले और शिक्षा विभाग माँ बाप की जेब पर हमला करता ही है.. मैंने तो चलो 1500 रूपये ज्यादा दे दिए पर हर माँ बाप इतने सक्षम तो नहीं होंगे ना. मेरे जैसे लोग जो सरकारी स्कूल में पढ़े होंगे उनकी 10 th तक की पढ़ाई का खर्च 6200 आया होगा, बड़ी मुश्किल से. आजकल बच्चों को पढ़ाना जंग लड़ने जितना ही मुश्किल है.. क्या आप भी इसी जेबकतरी का शिकार हो??

@CommonBS786OM बिल्कुल!! आज की ही बात है. Computer की क्लास 7th की पतली सी किताब जिसका मूल्य 559 था, वह 599 में दी जा रही थी. जब इस फर्क़ के बारे में पूछा तो सकपकाते हुए गलती तो मान ली,..लेकिन मैंने भी अब से हर किताब का मूल्य cross check करने की ठान ली है.
