If you’re passionate about Off-the-Track Thoroughbreds and want to play a hands-on role in helping them transition to their next careers, this could be the perfect opportunity. As our Assistant Trainer, you’ll help support the daily care, training, and placement of approximately 65 retired racehorses, working closely with our Facility Director and Trainer. From riding and evaluating horses to helping match them with adopters, you’ll be part of the journey that gives these horses their next chapter. Responsibilities include: • Riding horses for training, evaluations, and promotional videos • Presenting horses to potential adopters in-hand and under saddle • Assisting with adoption coordination and adopter communication • Creating photos, videos, and horse descriptions for marketing • Supporting veterinary and farrier appointments • Maintaining training notes and horse records • Assisting with overall barn operations and team support We’re looking for someone who: Has extensive experience with Off-the-Track Thoroughbreds Is a confident rider with strong horse-handling skills Is organized, communicative, and great with people Thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment This is an incredible opportunity to make a direct impact on the retraining and rehoming of retired racehorses. Not freaking out. Voicing a concern about the explosion of GLP-1 agonists and the gathering zeitgeist suggesting they are the best answer for our obesity epidemic. I see the utility these drugs have, and I have strong concerns that their side effects have been underestimated and undereported- something that has repeatedly happened with pharmaceutical drugs, historically. I also have concerns that as humans we seem to be forgetting that health, weight loss, libido, lean physiques and vitality are possible without medications. Admittedly, it's not sexy to suggest eating simple foods or spending time moving your body (preferably outside with people you care about) is the way to weight loss, and humans have known this for many, many years. I am not claiming to say anything new or groundbreaking here, only to add an entreaty to remember where we have come from as humans. Also, I have founded @heartandsoilHQ and @eatlineage. The first helps people include organs - incredibly nutrient rich foods that few of us eat anymore- in their diet by putting them in collagen capsules. The latter makes grass-fed jerky, tallow, collagen, glyphosate-free honey and protein powder to make convenient foods healthier. I'm happy to send you some if you'd like to try. They're both the highest quality possible, I've made sure of that and am proud of the companies I have built. For the record, I've never made a "weight-loss" supplement and never will. I believe humans should focus on food quality before something like this. I know your post was done with anger or frustration but I appreciate the opportunity to elaborate on my ideas.
