@anondeguerre @friedberg UBI is Communism with a new name. problem is they’re doing “ubi” aka “free money” studies on a select sample size. How much time have you lived in a trailer court? At least in Communism, everyone was working at 25% of their capabilities.. with “UBI” they don’t have to work.

@friedberg second screening your ep of the Williams pod and you have a few misunderstandings about ubi and what happens when people receive a ubi. I’m not going to bore you with the technical stuff about where the money can come from or even the results of ubi. I will tackle 2 claims tho. Claim 1: it will make people lazy. You say giving people enough to live means they won’t improve themselves or continue to unlock their human potential or be productive members of society. Here is a logic puzzle, if you had the money for a bicycle, how much less likely would you be to ever want a car? If you had enough for a used 20 year old Honda civic, how much less likely would you be to ever want a luxury suv? Same logic applies in the sexual market place. Do you want to attract a female? If so, are you more likely to attract her if you only have a bicycle or will she be more likely to date you if you can drive her around in your used Honda civic? Long story short, we all want nice stuff. And nice stuff costs money. So if you want nice stuff you will need to find ways to be useful to get paid money to buy better stuff than you have. Necessity is the mother of invention, etc. Claim 2: inflation. If your thesis is that automation and cheap electricity will bring down the cost of everything, wouldn’t that include the basic necessities for life that the ubi will get spent on? If you want to have a more in depth based in scholarship discussion about ubi, how to pay for it, etc. I’ll happily spend an afternoon doing that with you, or I’ll get you in touch with people who work on ubi for a living, or if you just want links to articles or whatever lmk. Ubi is good, and we should pursue it aggressively. The idea that it can only be achieved through some kind of draconian wealth confiscation event or scheme is wrong. Food for thots.

@Skylarbear10 @arjunkhemani @friedberg he's making future assumptions of peoples behavior based on events that will not actually play out. its a fear based prediction ungrounded in factuality or truth stemming from his own insecurity that capitalism which has provided himself wealth is the only answer for others.

.@friedberg explains what the Politburo is: “The Politburo is the leaders who elect themselves to dictate the flow of the economy, the allocation of capital, what work individuals are allowed to do, and what activities they’re allowed to do in an unfree society, which is what they’re creating. They are the true oligarchs. And this is Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Ro Khanna. This is the group that is trying to coalesce power and create for themselves a system whereby they have greater influence, greater control over aspects of the economy. They want to seize the means of production. They want to control education. They want to control media. And anytime there’s an effort by an individual enterprise, or an individual themselves, to go out and build a business and succeed and do something that’s outside of their scope and their span of control, they lose their minds over it. And that’s what we’re seeing. So I react to their tweeting and their bullshit, where they’re basically trying to contort things about inequality and fairness and justice, when the truth is they are the rising empire, the evil empire in Star Wars. They are the folks who want to take from all of us what we were endowed with when this nation was started, and what many people came to this country for, which is individual freedom and liberty, the ability to build a business in peace, the ability to make decisions, to do what you want with your own assets, and to have functionally private property. And they’re taking it all away. And they’re trying to take it all away. And we’re watching, piece by piece, step by step. So they are forming a politburo where they can effectively control the economy, control education, control the media, and tell us all what we can and can’t do and say. And it’s frustrating to me to watch it because it’s masqueraded as bullshit virtue, as justice, as equity. It’s a bunch of nonsense words that they use to try and make themselves seem virtuous when, at the end of the day, they are fundamentally evil.”

Allow me to re-iterate the $RCAT bull case and why I'm still all in $RCAX (2x leveraged version) Last week I wrote: > I feel good about a floor for RCAT at $11 and bounce play for the next week. $RCAT is bouncing off $11 RIGHT now. Major catalyst soon: > Drone Dominance Phase 2 qualifiers ends this Saturday and I expect to hear the results by Monday. I pegged the odds of them passing at 89% but I think it's higher now with their new Hellcat drone which has longer range and flight time specifically designed for this test. The Hellcat was even spotted in the Ukraine Ministry of Defence booth at Eurosatory 2026 (CES for defense): x.com/kevinxu/status… Here's the VP of Marketing talking about it: youtube.com/watch?v=1eDyo3… $RCAT is one of the few that can actually mass manufacture at scale in the US with fully US supply chain. This is extremely important to the government. Plus the Department of War literally tweeted this yesterday: x.com/DIU_x/status/2… Today Trump invoked the Defense Production Act to specifically shore up US weapons like drones. More news could come any day. When news leaked of the Pentagon looking to make investments in drone companies, $RCAT jumped to $14+ which represents a 27% move from here. With $RCAX, that would be a 54% move. This is an extremely volatile stock but nothing about the thesis has changed which is why I've kept holding it. I fully admit the entry on June 4 was bad timing (sorry I can't predict war) and other stocks have fared better during this time. But if you're gonna inverse me then show the receipts.

Trump just reposted the Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif's post that a US-Iran peace deal is imminent. --- All we know is that it is 14 points that take up 1 to 2 pages. The exact language is not public. The Iranians think they will control the Strait, regulate its traffic, and can charge a "Service Fee" (do not call it a toll!) Trump says the Strait will remain an international waterway, allowing free passage to all.

@FoMaHun @MrHazeD @TrevorHawkeHRG have you thought of using an earthen pot to cook the recipe? It might last longer than metal. Probably can’t buy one from a store, but a potter with a kiln could make one for you easily. (check your nearest art university too)

Home made Peruvian precision cut Hanan pacha, well, it’s a casting, or more precisely, plastering with artificial stone, directly from the pot I created the waterglass, on top of a boulder representing the bedrock. Bonus decoration (a snake and fingerprints) by @TrevorHawkeHRG And then, a thunderstorm ⛈️ strike on the thing. Standard Peruvian weather - in Budapest this time. But luckily, this part of the casting turned to be waterproof super fast, so the snake 🐍 is still alive! You can see the second batch (behind) falling apart because of the heavy rain. To summarize: it was cast in two batches, then the storm started, and only the first batch survived, but that one is in perfect condition! Why? Pine 🌲 wood ash made it waterproof almost instantly!

Auch er sagte wiederholt „I can’t breathe“. @Aella_Girl Very interesting idea. If I were the guy giving $5m, I’d be concerned she’d blow all the money in a few years and then come asking for more to prevent my child (and her) from being out on the street. Maybe could be put into a structure and dispersed slowly so it would last.

BREAKING: WEBFLOW LAYOFFS THE WAY THEY HANDLED IT IS INSANE One employee tagged the CEO on LinkedIn 3 hours ago: "I'm locked out of my Webflow laptop since 7am this morning. Rumor has it we've been laid off, but I don't have an email or any message to confirm anything. My manager, do you have any news? Do I have a job?" CEO Linda Tong then posted a polished blog titled "Evolving Webflow for the agentic web." So yes, Mark W., looks like you and a whole lot more have been laid off. Via blog.
