It was stupid and inappropriate. Why would Japan warn about Pearl Harbor when they were our enemy. It's not the same thing. The reporter didn't ask why he didn't tell Iran, they asked why he didn't tell his allies that could've helped and planned for the closure of the Strait of Hormuz that he didn't plan for.

I try, but at a simple human level I do not see how anyone can mistake this man’s almost supernatural weakness for strength.
