Good news peeps ...I'm back in the #boxing game 😊 I've received my boxing manager's license from the #californiastateathleticcommission so I'm on the move. This is a long post, so please read to end ... I'm going to get involved on the training side too, but more in an advisory role, so the game-plan & tactics for fight night are spot on... I understand fighters will not run to me straight away, so I'm going to be at #craftboxingclub (thank you #georgeforeman3) and I'll be around doing a few classes and shaking off the cobwebs, so come find me and say hello. Fighters, although I didn't get all my goals accomplished in the ring, I was the first boxer in this generation who pioneered boxers managing their own careers; so I know the boxing business from the television boardroom, to the promoters contracts, matchmaking, sponsorships, pr, venue contracts & everything in-between ... more importantly, I assembled a world class team from Thell Torrence, to Buddy McGirt & others who taught me everything (old school) that I just don't see many using today ... I also had the best matchmakers from USA, Germany and UK & I'd sit with them & learn their processes for picking opponents & why. I was also fortunate to have hof fame fighters like Lennox Lewis who mentored me, and many others too; who opened the door for me - champs like Shane Mosley, who would let me rent out his house in Big Bear for camps. The Ring Magazine had me as the future of the heavyweight division in 2004, when I was unbeaten 17-0 and was blitzing good tough competition. I was 100% ready for the next stage when it crashed & went dark. Once I build up some success and help develop my first champion, I'll share the story. I walked away from boxing for many years ... partly because I didn't want to tell my story, as I didn't want to face my demons of my past, but life doesn't work like that, so I'm ready to lift the lid, but not now. All that knowledge & experience I have hasn't gone, its been sitting dormant, waiting for me to return to guide that fighter who's fallen and needs my support to help him rise.
