Good news: sprite stacking makes depth related things super easy. You can go over every game object N times and draw one slice from the stack(s) at a time. #gamedev #indiedev #dlang

@yuki_mlx Yep. I do some stuff right now. There are also some tricks to have smaller textures, for walls at least. This makes it easier to get multiple of them in a single huge texture.

@Kapendev sprite stacking is a good perf trap: art stays 2d, slice count becomes your z budget → batch hard, cap layers early, don't let overdraw become the game

QBE can now emit Position Independent Code (PIC). Meaning, QBE can now be used to compile dynamic shared libraries (.so on linux, .dll on windows). QBE also supports Windows from now on. WE ARE SO BACCCK!
