@JakeRuss1000 Paul is a top jockey but even the very best professionals don’t always get it right….

Paul has ridden 1000's of winners, he knows horses inside out, and anyone saying otherwise don't have a clue. He would have known if something was wrong at the time. He will also be gutted at Gold Dancer passing away. Have some sympathy for him before jumping to conclusions!

@abracing0 I think it was a pelvis injury and then because he was made to keep running it caused the secondary fatal back injury. If a horse is made to gallop with a serious pelvic injury the back is unstable and is at high risk of fracturing.

I’m not going to post the video, but it seems fair to say that Gold Dancer wasn’t moving properly after the final fence

@abracing0 I have full respect for this and I said the same thing at the time, it was very clear this horse was lame and I’m heart broken this has happened to a horse who even in such dreadful circumstances kept running. I’m shocked and deeply saddened by it all.

@itvracing That’s not really helpful information though,the fact is to determine a lame horse from a gallop you need to watch its rhythm,it was highly visible he was lame behind moving away from the fence you don’t diagnose the lameness by assessing if he’s straight when galloping on turf.

@AtTheRaces If he felt sound Paul needs to go back to the r song school to be trained on what it feels like when a horse is lame… sorry he knew that horse was lame… it was hugely apparent even to the naked eye…

@WeaverRacing No 1 - was the horses back checked out by the vets immediately after the incident at the landing side of the fence to verify this with the X-RAY machine? No they weren’t so that comment is giving inaccurate information. No 2 - The horse was visibly lame after the incident .

@K1rst3y I’m sure you have all ridden more horses in races than Paul Townend 🤔 how did he know it was lame, the horse carried on running and he jumped straight off. 🤫🤫

The jockeys don't do themselves any favours for the sport! Paul Townsend ought to have pulled Gold Dancer up after that last fence

@hampton_ne58392 @RacingTV There is no way Paul didn’t know that horse was lame… if he didnt he shouldn’t be riding a horse… that wasn’t a 1/10th lameness with we were dealing with there. So awful, the poor horse.

@RacingTV So sad what happened to gold dancer but Paul townend needs to take a good look at himself that wasn’t nice to see when he clearly went wrong after the last and he clearly kept riding the horse out to the line 😢

@RacingTV I’m beyond shocked …. I spend a huge amount of my time telling people the horse welfare always comes first in racing … sorry that was not the case here and I think it’s absolutely dreadful. That poor horse, he was very clearly seriously lame after the incident at the last.
