@5on_it I phrased it wrong. Harbaugh wants Dex & they have to start winning. There is no excuse not to pay Dex & keep him then. If Schoen & that regime is the problem, remove him from the negotiation.

I’m on both sides of the fence with a potential Dex trade. Obv I think keeping him his the best choice but if we trade him for the right haul I’m cool with that too. I survived the OBJ trade. I’ll survive this

If the Giants did the right thing and fired everyone and started fresh, trading Dex would be much easier to stomach. But year 5 GM + HoF HC makes it a “win now situation”. That was always the problem with keeping schoen and hiring Harbaugh b

Trading one of the best DT’s in the league at a position becomming more of a premium w/ a win now head coach & gm on an extreme hot seat would be the biggest mistake of the Schoen regime (beside the Jones contract) & a massive black eye to Harbaugh regime before it even starts.

So I will say personally I don’t think Dexter Lawrence’s down season was due to “effort” and more he was clearly injured. At the very least he was ALSO dealing with the elbow he had surgery on. BUT if there is truth to him not being the player we know he can be because he is unhappy with his contract I don’t know how the solution isn’t just pay him. If it was true I would lose respect for him and I wouldn’t blame anyone for being mad at him. But he also wouldn’t be the first HOF caliber player who is a bit of a diva. If the only thing separating me from 2024 Dexter Lawrence is paying him what he deserves then just fucking pay him and get back your best player.

Not good! Dex loses 2 of his best friends from the team, they go on to win Super Bowls and get paid. Dex in 2023 is the 3rd highest paid DT in the league, now he’s the 12th and has $0 guaranteed money left in his final two years. Find a way to make it work IF Dex wants to be here
