@AlexWillows2000 @TheOnlyFronk @michaelshermer No human is flying through the Van Allen radiation belt. Unless the vessel has 2ft lead walls. No human has ever left orbit.
English

@MLJanson @AreOhEssEyeEe The radiation belts are pretty charged.
The inner belt is roughly 1.2–2 Earth radii out, while the outer extends to 3–5 radii, enough to cook some astronauts and satellites that stray too far from the Earth.

@Br0mslee @AreOhEssEyeEe Van Allen never claimed anything like that.
English

@AreOhEssEyeEe A good thing to question.
I am not sure they can get past the van allen belts.
They need water or heavy metals for insulation from the radiation, which is too heavy to bring with them.

@chuckmcnam @TheMoonCarl Well, if he thought he knew better than Van Allen, there's probably a reason he got dismissed.
English

@MLJanson @TheMoonCarl Coming from a NASA engineer who ended up being dismissed. They would have to launch the rocket from the north or south Pole to avoid the radiation.
English

We never went to the moon, and NASA lies about everything.

It’s not a straight shot to the far side of the Moon! 🌕 Over approximately 10 days, the Artemis II astronauts will orbit Earth twice before looping around the far side of the Moon in a figure eight and returning home.
English

@ReciprocitEye @Darkstalight @ManaByte You can see how difficult it is for SpaceX to get Starship to be able to launch reliably. Space travel remains hard and funding limited.
English

@MLJanson @Darkstalight @ManaByte So you think in 50 years we don't have infinitely better technology to improve on the technology that got them to the Moon?
👌
English

@ReciprocitEye @Darkstalight @ManaByte So you think there's an assembly line you can switch on that will just spit out a brand new Saturn 5?
English

@Darkstalight @ManaByte hmmm...sure.
That's why it's been so easy to get back and land again?
English

@Celibate_Uno @uMzilankatha95 That's why it took them 15 years.
English

@uMzilankatha95 I thought they destroyed all the technology and it will be a pain to rebuild 🤔
English

@LucasGageX Did NASA finally solve the Van Allen radiation belt problem?
English

@ABC No human has EVER "flown" through the Van Allen radiation belt.
English

This animation shows NASA’s Artemis II mission path, a journey of nearly 685,000 miles. The crew will travel in a figure-eight trajectory, looping out from Earth, around the Moon, and back again.

@SkyNews But they are still in the orbit. Its impossible to pass van allen belt until they have lead capsule.
English

"No matter where you're from or what you look like, we're all one people."
Artemis II pilot Victor Glover says the mission shows what they can do when they bring their differences together and use their strengths to accomplish something great.

@NASA @Astro_Christina So did you guys find a way how to pass the van Allen belt? Asking for a friend!
English

“I’m the space plumber, I’m proud to call myself the space plumber.”
Mission specialists like @Astro_Christina train for all roles so they can jump in wherever they’re needed. Sometimes that means fixing vital machinery, like the spacecraft toilet.

Because we doubt they can go since they faked the first one. Explain to me how a human being can go through the Van Allen radiation belt which takes about an hour and a half to pass through. The belt is assumed to measure 5 roentgens per minute, that’s enough to kill a human being within hours, and we’re to believe they can withstand an hour an a half of that radiation. Not happening. The amount of lead would prevent liftoff.
English

@aaronca25084440 @GuntherEagleman Did you just stop reading when Van Allen explained how?
English

@GuntherEagleman Still ZERO explanation of how they get through the Van Allen belt without being extremely sick from radiation.
English

@TheGriftReport They will just hang out there for the whole time and then head back to land. This is what they did last time. They never go through the Van Allen belt.
